Turkeygirl
I wanted to keep it a secret...but well......yes, it's true. There's a new addition to my family and the Realtree family. She weighs just over 5 lbs.....is lightweight....smooth....a little rough around the edges being so new to this world...but I'm sure with some action, she'll work right in. And with a bl of 22" and some nice brights sights.....she'll be a hit in the turkey woods. I can't believe how small she is yet how light and easily she fits in my hand. Please meet my Mossberg 500 20 ga Super Bantam turkey gun:eek::D Got her on sale for $270 at Bass Pro. Luckily my mom saved the day because I write a check and the guy calls it in and the bank or whoever wouldn't autherize it...what the heck? Maybe because it was Sunday and the banks are closed and I haven't written a check to that store before....I dunno. Thanksfully mom had some extra cash just in case. Any good breaking in tips? The pump is a little rough being so new...it's all ioled up but the pump seems to stick a little bit when I push the button in to bring the pump down, say if I'm unloading.... Randy
Clean "her" up really good, they usually put a thicker grease or oil in the action. That'll loosen her up a bit. I just knew after your post this morning you were coming home with a new gun!! Now go kill something and break her in!!
Bowtech_archer07
Ruth I had the exact same gun when I started hunting.. only in natural wood finish, and the pump stuck a little too. Just put some shots through it and it will loosen up. Great looking gun!!!

Grant-KS
Aww she's a real cutie! Just clean her up really well with some Hoppes #9 solvent and Q-tips, wipe clean, then apply a thin layer of CLP or other light gun oil on all the moving parts, hold the button down, and start cycling the action alot. It should wear in fairly quickly and be smooth as butter. When I got my Supernova new it drug alot on the pump/receiver fit, but I loosened it up, and it's smooth now. Good luck with your li'l gal, and spoil her rotten! She's a pretty li'l darlin'!

toddyboman
great addition :D:D Got her on sale for $270 at Bass Pro. Luckily my mom saved the day because I write a check and the guy calls it in and the bank or whoever wouldn't authorize it...what the heck? Maybe because it was Sunday and the banks are closed and I haven't written a check to that store before....I dunno. Thanksfully mom had some extra cash just in case. ... This happened because.....BP called in the check to another company.....That company has information about you on file to determine if the person writing the check is actually you or not....So if the person that called in the check gives that company wrong info (on accident) then your check will get declined. Oh and they do not call your bank and it has NOTHING to do with how much money you do or do not have in your account. MOST of the time peoples checks are declined because of lack of information.....Either you don't write many checks or you don't write many checks with companies that use this particular system. The entire system is to protect you from having someone writing checks that's not you....AKA stealing your money. while the entire process is a pain in the butt....and you feel dumb because your check got declined its really truly to protect you...... AdvantageTimberLou
Great gun Ruth! Love that Realtree camo on it. Just add a strap and a red dot scope and your ready to take on the gobblers this spring. As for break-in tips, just do your standard practicing with it with your turkey loads and your standard cleaning of it afterwards like you would do with any gun. You should be all right. Great looking gun, always like the safety tab on the Mossbergs, smart thinking there! Enjoy it!
