Guest Big_Game_Hunter_64
what are some good things to do (weights and stuff) that would help to drawback a heavyier draw weight?
mathews4life
Re: workout Lots of shoulder and back excersises and most important just shoot your bow. Its all about technique not about muscle
tedicast
Re: workout I just got a bow that is heavier than what I have been shooting. I have been drawing it, and holding it for 5 seconds... doing that 10 or 12 times a night. I also have been doing pushups. Figure that might help strengthen the muscles in my shoulder . Push ups, and drawing the bow seem to be very similar motions.
Guest jereseyhunter101
Re: workout Just work your way up from the lighter bow to the heavier. But you know just cause the bow has a heavier pull doesnt mean that its gonna make you more successful deer hunting.

Stinger-Hunter
Re: workout Pullups and bent over rows. Here is a link to what bent over rows are. http://www.theministryoffitness.com/mof/library/anims/borows.htm You can also do these with dumbells. Here is a link http://www.muscletech.com/TRAINING/CHEST_BACK_JOHNNIE/Train_with_Johnnie.shtml Don't start off with a lot of weight. Start off light with alot of repetitions 10-15. Then after a few weeks move up in weight and move it down to 6-8 repetitions. Pullups will do wonders for you and even if you can't do that many, you will get better alot faster than any other exercise. good luck
Guest bowhunter56
Re: workout It's not the draw weight or speed, that's important, it's the point of impact.
Switchback29A1
Re: workout Any thing on forearm, tricep, and shoulder. Push ups, pull ups, and also get a pull down bar....it's a bar with two sides on a pulley and you can also switch it to a grip and you can pull it back just like your drawing a bow.
