slughunter
We have had such a hard winter with all this ice and snow. I have been following a small flock since the first snow fall. It has gone from 19 birds to 4 in the last 2 months. And now we have around 12 more inches on its way. So a question for you midwest guys, What percentage of the turkeys do you think have died, or are gonna make it? just wondering.... -shane
Tom2008
All the turkeys around here have been doing just fine actually. We've been seeing a ton up north still too. I don't think the weather has affected them as much over here.
Guest turkeynutz64
Same around here! They have had to find other roost trees because of the ice storm busting up a bunch of the old roost trees!
PotashRLS
Hard to say. Right now they are congregated near the farmers who are spreading cow manure. Our food plotting does help, but its like a buffet, they eat eat eat till its gone too soon. Then they have to scrounge the rest of the winter. GobbleStalker
We have had so much snow here in Canada the birds were using their wings to get along the snow because they were sinking up to there chest. Should make for some shorter beards and a higher winter kill I am sure. Kevin
camoman1
Been seein a lot of birds on the property i hunt which is 30miles w/ nw of Green Bay. Farmer has been spreading manure so thats helping quite a bit. And the deer have been diggin thru the snow in the food plot and im sure the turkeys are using that to their advantage too. Im sure we lost a few tho.

CamoGuy
No problems here in WV. Just talked to a friend who is seeing a flock of 8-10 longbeards in his fields daily and my "personal" flock looks to be about 30 strong. We haven't had a lot of precipitation but the temperatures and wind chill factor have been brutal.
