3seasons
Has anyone here ever polished a barrel. Ive got an 870 turkey gun and was wondering if it would make a difference. I don't know if it will help or hurt my patterns. Thanks for any tips or suggestions.
mailmanmark
Polishing a barrel Polishing a barrel or "lapping" a barrel is usually done on a rifled barrel, primarily a rifle. What this does is that it gets rid of any micro-imperfections in the rifling caused by the rifiling process. It helps to increase velocity and accuracy. Hope this helps.
