I was just wondering if any of you guys ever had too close of an encounter and got bit?

I hate snakes, and am terrified of them!!!
dogdoc
Re: Snakes Gator is the snake expert--he just loves those little critters. I have no fear of snakes---i have been catching them since i was a kid. they are good for the eco-system. todd

IowaDeerHunter
Re: Snakes I hate snakes! They just freak me out! Worst part is I have only seen garders in the wild and they freak me out to! Yeah like, Dogdoc said, just ask Gator about his snake encounter. If that was me I would be six feet under today, so to speak.
preacherman
Re: Snakes as only Bubba could say, "Snakes are just Satan's little hand puppets!"..............I hate snakes, have had a few close encounters, like yesterday while bass fishing, but I have never been bit! SuperMn106
Re: Snakes i have to say i hate snakes but yet they intrigue me. i have got bitten once but a garder. well i think it was a garder, we only have one poisinous snake in michigan and thats a rattler and i know it wasnt that. i tried to pick it up and grabbed to far back on the head and it turned around and bite me on the finger. it hurt like heck, i dropped it and picked it back up again lol. it was about 3 ft long and 4 inches around. my brother has a pet snake and it scares me to death it is a red tail boa and here is a pic. coles
Re: Snakes the only good snake is one without a head. my english teacher has a boa and its cool to watch it eat the rats. but my greatgrandpa was quail hunting and found a rattle snake and cut its head off then his brittany ran up and the head was twitching around. the dog sniffed the head and it clamped on his nose. he had to bury that dog the next day. also my grandma used to live in louisiana and my cousin and i were aobutr 4 and were playing in the woods. my cousin picked up a cottonmouth and when it showed us its mouth he dropped it but thats as close as i have come. kill all the dang snakes you can
Gator
Re: Snakes Hail hail, the snake man is here!!! As of yet I have not been bitten but have had a few close calls with copperheads. 2 years ago, as I was leaving my stand at dark, I noticed somethimg move right at my feet, turned on a light, friggin copperhead. Well, I'll tell ya, a .50 cal ML does a number on one!!! And last year, I found this little bugger hanging off the power steering pump while under my truck pulling the oil filter. I didn't think I could move that fast!!!! Took me an hour to get up enough nerve to get back under there. Last year I killed 10 copperheads on my place, and have had the dog get bit twice by them. But he does get his revenge! Oh yeah, I would love to thank whoever put that pic of the boa up without a warning, EMT's should be here soon to hit me with the defibrillator!!! HuntingInMaine
Re: Snakes I don't mind snakes and use to catch them with my sister when we were little. Maybe if I came on a deadly one, I might be a little scared, but don't have to worry about that much around here!
MUDRUNNER
Re: Snakes I DON'T MIND SNAKES AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT POISINOUS.COPPERHEADS ARE NASTY.I HAD A SMALL BALL PYTHON A FEW YEARS AGO THAT WAS PRETTY NEAT.ALL MY BUDDIES WOULD COME OVER AND DRINK BEER WHEN IT WAS TIME TO FEED IT. ZooBear
Re: Snakes Snakes dont bother me at all. I did get bit by a Timber Rattler once when I stepped on it. Lucky for me I was standing too close to the head for it to get over my boot. I leave them alone and they leave me alone.
Palssonater
Re: Snakes All the snakes around here are Garter/Garder snakes. No big deal. There is a major migration through my hometown area as they make their way to the Inwood(another town) breeding dens. Pretty neat to see acutally. As for poisonous I would be shooting or chopping or stomping. Not a real fan but I can handle non poinsonous.
wtnhunt
Re: Snakes Have a lot of nasty old cottonmouths and copperheads around here. Have almost stepped on both copperheads and cottonmouths on more than one occasion. I do not like them, but so long as I can see them they do not really scare me.
