Guest Andrea
Just heard on the news he is "suspending" his campaign. Wow, wonder why. He's got the money. This is good for Huckabee........
johnf
That's big news. Huck could clean up. http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2008/02/07/time-magazine-blog-romney-to-quit-today/ http://www.cnn.com/ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/
wtnhunt
Just heard on the news he is "suspending" his campaign. Wow, wonder why. He's got the money. This is good for Huckabee........ Nope, probably not really going to help Huckabee at all Andrea. Think this pretty well sews it up for McCain. I watched Romney's speech, and he made some good points. Will be interesting to see who McCain picks for a running mate, and how long Huckabee stays in before pulling out. Dont figure he will be in the race much longer. Was reported that Romney had his speech written with intentions of staying in up til the end, but as he was writing it he realized that would just about secure a democratic liberal winning the election. Like it or not, McCain is the lesser of all evils when looking at him compared to Obama or Clinton. btw, thanks for changing your avatar, the other one hurt my eyes and head:o
OJR
I wish Huckabee would do the same thing!

OJR
I think Huckabee would make a great vice president. I would just as soon see him head back to Arkansas and stay there, never to be heard from again!!:(
Texan_Til_I_Die
Debating Huckabee's fitness for President is really a moot point since he has zero chance of winning the nomination. It will either be McCain vs Clinton (my prediction) or McCain vs Obama. This does create the opportunity for those of us who have open primaries coming up, to influence the nominee for the other side. The general election will come down to this: Will there be enough Democrats and Independents who are sick of the Clinton machine and their down and dirty politics to elect McCain? Or will there be enough Democrats and Independents who are fearful of Obama's almost totally unknown record to elect McCain? Or will there be enough conservatives stay home and not vote because McCain isn't a "hardcore conservative" and thus guarantee a liberal victory? wtnhunt
Or will there be enough conservatives stay home and not vote because McCain isn't a "hardcore conservative" and thus guarantee a liberal victory? Romney's speech today supporting McCain or more so the party was a good booster in my opinion. McCain's speech after getting past the boo's on immigration seemed to also swing towards the positive. Hopefully voters will be motivated despite McCain not being a "hardcore conservative".

Guest Andrea
Huckabee would be better than all of them but if it's gonna boil down to McCain vs. either of the other 2 democratic idiots...then McCain it is.

Guest ohbowhntr
Unfortunately, I don't think Huckabee has a chance, however....I don't think Romney or Huckabee will get the bid for VP, because I think McCain has his eye on somebody who might seal the deal with the undecided moderate and liberal voters. I can see Joe Lieberman, formerly a Democrat, but not an INDEPENDENT, possibly getting the nod from McCain to be the VP candidate on the ticket. And in all honesty, I'd be more likely to vote for Lieberman before McCain. But unfortunately, we may all be heading to the polls to vote AGAINST one candidate, rather than FOR another. JJL
Funny for a guy to be having a firing gun in his avitar & saying " Go Hillary" in the same space ????? Amazing isn't it. I never thought I'd be voting Democrat, let alone voting for Hillary. But, I'm not going to let the GOP force feed me a big spoonful of "John McCain Liberal Horsecrap" and tell me it's good for the party while they try and convince me that he's a Conservative. He's not even CLOSE to being Moderate. I'd vote for O'Bama before I'd vote for McCain. In the words of Glen Beck, " the Republican Party is like an alcoholic, they need to hit Rock-Bottom before they realize that they have a problem." And they have a HUGE PROBLEM............. Everytime the GOP has run a Liberal/Moderate candidate against a Strong Democrat, they've gotten their clocks cleaned. 1. Gerald Ford 2. Bush 41 3. Bob Dole 4. John McCain????? Yep it's going to happen again. Set up by the Media, force fed by the GOP, and swallowed by the gullible. I for one am tired of it, and they expect me to accept John McCain as a Republican...........ain't going to happen. Oh Yeah, as far as my Second Ammendment rights go; If he NRA cannot stop Hillary and O'Bama they need to close their doors and go home. With the thousands of $$$$ I've sent them over the past 30+ years, if they haven't got a grip on gun activist by now they should quit trying. Come and try to take them away. I'm amazed by the people who believe that somehow John McCain will Be tough on terrorism, uphold the Second Ammendment, and appoint conservative judges. Wake-UP. It ain' t going to happen. This guy is a full-blown LIBERAL. As soon as he gets in office he'll be answering the calls of his good buddies Kennedy- Lieberman-Feingold-Guilliani-Reed-and Pelosi. It's just how he is and he cannot help it. And the GOP wants you to support him. I'd just as soon have Hillary, at least we can blame the Democrats for Destroying the country instead of them blaming the Republicans. Either way it's going to get destroyed. OJR
jjl7913, I cannot agree with you and your thinking on this one at all! I am not happy with McCain, but the other two are so far to the left, I will not even consider voting for them! If you are a disabled veteran and think you are in trouble with McCain, you had better wake up because I have gone through all the promises made by the democrats and they are just plain liars! I have seen veterans benefits increase under Bush like they haven't done for years! You will get tons of new gun laws with either Hillary or Obama along with the democrats in congress! We don't need that! The military will go down the same as when Billy Boy was in there! I don't like McCain, but I will never vote for the other 2! Tecumseh
I agree that McCain is the lesser of two evils. If Hillary or Obama get in the second amendment will get thrown out the window.
JJL
OJR, You might want to check out this site. http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/index.htm It appears "swiftboatish" at first glance, but then again there are alot of similarities between McCain and the wonderful John Kerry. In the upper right hand corner there's a link with a pencil and paper on it, very interesting comments from fellow vets. Question????? If John McCain is true Red-White and Blue, how come when the vote to extend tax rebates to 250,000 veterans was being voted on, he was absent???? Too busy with personal goals i guess. OJR
I checked out the site and again, there are several things that I do NOT agree with McCain on! I do agree that when McCain laid into that gal, she had it coming because at that time, she had tried everything possible to "blackball" a whole lot of people who did NOT go along with her. That is the Alfond gal! She is and was a hopeless case! Look into what she tried to have done on a federal level! You might be very surprised! The thing of it is, I only agree with Hillary or Obama on about 1% of what they stand for! Also check out the Disclaimer at the bottom of the link about "they don't know if any of it is true or not"! Could be or it could be total fabrication! In either case, I am not going to base my vote on that link!
JJL
Neither am I, I just thought it was thought provoking. Imagine the dirt that Hillary and Barack will dig up on McCain..............and you KNOW FOR A FACT that the Media will report nothing about them.
OJR
There isn't any doubt that the mud will be flying! Then you look at the other side and remember what dear Hillary and Bill did when he was in office, before he was President and what they have spread about everyone else. I hate election years just because of that! The Clinton's are so crooked and smelly they reek! As for Obama, name one thing he has done to qualify him to be the president? If Huckabee would win the nomination and is running against either Hillary or Obama, I will vote for him! I don't like him at all and would hope he would never be president, but again, I will never vote for Hillary or Obama!
JJL
As for Obama, name one thing he has done to qualify him to be the president? I'll give you several: 1. He's BLACK. 2. He's eloquant. 3. He's married to Patrick Ewing. 4. He's Squeaky Clean, already admitted to doing drugs. 5. The media loves him. 6. He's not a Clinton. 7. He dresses well. and most important.......... 8. He's in favor of giving large amounts of money to the Latino-Negro-White Trash communities, by means of entitlement programs. And there are alot of these people and they VOTE. And we cannot stop them. GAME OVER............O'Bama wins.
