BowJoe
http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=mmajunkie-Mazzagatti_Interview_Mir&prov=mmajunkie&type=lgns This article pretty much explains the situation as Steve Mazzagatti tries to defend his actions but it sounds more to me like he is a big fan of Mir and didn't want Lesnar to win. He claims that Lesnar was all wrong in the fight and that Mir was doing everything right. I thought you were to have no regards to what type of Martial Arts is used in a fight as a referee but it appears Steve is kinda partial to Mir's style and not Lesnar's. MCH
Guess I must've missed his first warning to Lesnar. If that's true, then I can understand him stopping the fight. The only warning I saw was the one where he deducted the point. There's no doubt in my mind, though, that if he hadn't stopped the fight, Lesnar would have won easily. Tominator
"My mazzagatti does 185, I lost my license, now I don't drive...." Sorry, couldn't resist.
GobblerBuster618
Lesnar is going to be the real deal. He was tearing mir up for that first minute or so
mule659
The fight would have been stoood up regardless of the point deduction...Mir was visibly dazed from the blows to the back of his head and anytime an illegal blow results in a hurt fighter he is given time to recover. Mir was doing exactly what he should have given the rules...tucked under Lesnar in order to keep from getting hit...not to give up a target that is going to cause more damage...Lesnar got carried away and had little or no regard for the rules by hitting the back of the head. Think what you want of the point deduction but the fact is they still would have been stood up and Mir still would have subbed him the same way. Lesnar can be good someday but he needs to learn the rules first.
