M00N
I was curious if anyone on here has tried this combo cable slide and silencer yet on their bow? I was thinking of getting a new cable slide and STS like system for my bow this coming season. I had already decided on the Saunders Fast Slide-Pro as my new cable slide and when visiting Saunders website I accidentally stumbled across this other product that would satisfy both my needs in one product. It's a combination of the Saunders Fast Slide-Pro and an STS like system. I have to say it really caught my eye for only $30. I've done quite a bit of research on other forums online and found a few users of the system that love it. Quite a few of them were even previous STS system users that switched to the Saunders Buzz Off just to try it and never went back saying it was working better than their STS systems were and that the big "thump" that the STS systems are notorious for making was quieter in the Saunders Buzz Off because of the material it was made out of. I like the idea of it being more close to the bow center than the bottom like the STS Systems do. I've known quite a few users of the STS Systems that got rid of them because it was causing the string to stretch abnormally because it was only stopping the string at the bottom so the middle and top wanted to keep going forward on the string. I know a few bow makers, mainly Bear, went to dual STS systems (one on top and one on bottom) because of that exact issue. However, I'm not too impressed with the dual STS systems, to me when hearing someone shoot one it was an even more dramatic "thump" noise. I like the idea of the single centralized system that the Saunders Buzz Off uses. It seems so far the only negatives I could find from people was that the Saunders Fast Slide-Pro, which is what's also used in the Saunders Buzz Off, on some bows tends to pull the cables a bit more than it really has to, to the side for clearance. A lot of people felt they could have got away with less clearance even with high profile vanes, but none reported it affected their setup or bow in a noticable way any. Anyway, I was looking for some opinions on the product if you have tried it, or if you work for a bowshop that sells it maybe some opinions you've heard from customers that are using it? Most likely I'll still end up trying it since it's not that expensive, but I'd like to get a few more opinions before becoming a tester myself. Leo
Personally, I like the STS just fine. The draw backs I immediately notice on the Saunders system are this. It may be right where you want to install a kisser. It will not work with a Muzzy Zero Effect rest. Adding weight to the cable slide will result in a speed loss.
