My Weatherby story

That's an awesome story Randy. It takes a man, who's come far, to tell a story like that. Go tell your Dad you love him. You need to do that ;);)
I will. ;) You know, I'm 34 years old and I never have told him. :o Shame on me. If it's something you grew up doing it probably isn't such a big deal, maybe I just get too emotional?? ;):)

congrats on the win,, you are a winner more ways then one...
I have definately been blessed in more ways than one. The story will continue.......

I just read the 1st place and Grand prize winning stories. I don't know what the judges were looking at. For what it's worth, Randy, I would have picked your story as the big winner! :)

It took a lot of guts and soul searching to put down in print what you did.

I'm proud to be able to say, "I know the man that wrote that."

Thanks bud, I really hesitated to put the link up here for everyone. Your kind words make me feel better about sharing my story. :)

great stroy, randy. i told you you were a winner.
Thanks Steve. BTW, How did you know? ;):)

I was told not to judge a man by his mistakes, but by what he learns from his mistakes.

You my friend are tops in my book. like you my relationship with my father was not good in my teens, but boy is it ever great now.

I only pray my kids think as much of me later in life as I think of my Dad.

God bless

Jeff.

Randy, it is OK to get too emotional. Tell him you love him while you still can. You will never regret it. Parents have emotions too.:)

Great story!

Ask anyone who knew you back then, "Am I still a jerk?"

Only then will you know truly how far you've come.

Your story is just part of the healing.

If you're offended by this, you're not ready. If it scares you, you are.

Thank you Dr Phil....not sure what the point of this reply was. thumbs_down.gif

By the way, I've met Randy and he is a great guy, so I'll vouch for the jerk part being way outta line. ;)

You misunderstand. I believe Randy is a great guy now. I really do. It took tremendous courage to tell that story about himself.

It just seems to me, he's really not sure if he's made up for his past. That's what I get from his story anyhow. Perhaps, I didn't understand that.

You are right Leo. I don't think I can ever "make up" for my past, I've created a lot of pain both mentally and physically. All I can do now is make the best out of the time we have. ;)
