Randy
Well, here's my story. I'm not real proud of my past. Thankfully I've been given a chance to turn myself around. I'm in the second place spot. http://wbydreamhunt.com/winners/index.htm

BowJoe
Dude, you gotta start warning me about things like this. I started crying and my wife thought something was wrong with me. Great experience. Thank you.
Leo
Ask anyone who knew you back then, "Am I still a jerk?" Only then will you know truly how far you've come. Your story is just part of the healing. If you're offended by this, you're not ready. If it scares you, you are.

buckee
That's an awesome story Randy. It takes a man, who's come far, to tell a story like that. Go tell your Dad you love him. You need to do that ;)

WIwhitetailhunter
I just read the 1st place and Grand prize winning stories. I don't know what the judges were looking at. For what it's worth, Randy, I would have picked your story as the big winner! It took a lot of guts and soul searching to put down in print what you did. I'm proud to be able to say, "I know the man that wrote that."

jbeck
I was told not to judge a man by his mistakes, but by what he learns from his mistakes. You my friend are tops in my book. like you my relationship with my father was not good in my teens, but boy is it ever great now. I only pray my kids think as much of me later in life as I think of my Dad. God bless Jeff.

By the way, I've met Randy and he is a great guy, so I'll vouch for the jerk part being way outta line. You misunderstand. I believe Randy is a great guy now. I really do. It took tremendous courage to tell that story about himself. It just seems to me, he's really not sure if he's made up for his past. That's what I get from his story anyhow. Perhaps, I didn't understand that.

Perhaps, I didn't understand that. You are right Leo. I don't think I can ever "make up" for my past, I've created a lot of pain both mentally and physically. All I can do now is make the best out of the time we have.
