i like the mouth calls, but if i had only one to take to the woods it would probably be the Lil' Duece slate....made by Hunters Specialities....it's very small and has a great sound..

My favorite is my grandpas "Lynch's fool proof" box call model 101. He was a heck of a hunter and I was lucky enough to have it handed down to me when he passed away, he chased easterns with it until he was 83. I have used it to call in both easterns and more recently merriams. Good luck to you all in the upcoming season!

My favorite call is a Cane Creek custom slate. Other calls come and go but I keep the Cane Creek in my vest. You can get a good deal on a Cane Creek at Midwest Turkey Supply. It's hard to find a better sounding slate. I've sold a few for them because when someone goes with me, they say, "Thats a great sounding call, where'd you get it?"

i like whatever call the turkeys come to. i do carry several calls with me everytime i go. some calls dont work well in different types of weather and some turkeys just dont respond to certain calls. ive had turkeys hang out a hundred yards out and pretty much ignore one call but when i change to another or combine mouth calling with a slate or box then they will come in running.
