camoman1 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 Hardest part , once u get one of them sly toms in range, is getting ur bow drawn back without spookin em. Bowtech_archer07 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 My buddy and I fall hunted last year with our bows, we each missed a bird, called in a flock, I shot first, missed my bird, called a wary hen back in, he missed his bird. M00N Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share Posted February 12, 2008 I do in the fall when our fall turkey seasons overlaps our archery deer season. It's a real challenge. First day I'm going to take out my shotgun then after that its ground blinding it for the rest of the season with my bow. Sure would like to nail one with it. Best to use a portable blind of some sort or make sure your hidden and blended very well or they will bust you before you can to full draw. I've had great success doing it this way, plus it gives me more time to be in the woods with my bow. In my opinion if you are thinking about going after turkeys with a bow I would suggest purchasing a blind. This helps cut down movement and makes it a little easier to come to draw. I have killed turkeys with a bow without using a blind, but it is extremely tough to do. Good luck to all the stick and string turkey hunters this spring.
