Bushman
I am buying a climbing tree stand in the next couple of weeks and would like to know everyone's take on the best climber for a big guy. Gotta be sturdy because I don't like heights. Thanks for the info peoples.
Tominator
Re: Buying a Climber Probably the Summit Goliath would be my choice. My buddy has one, and he likes it. I have an API and a Summit. The summit is more comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time, but the API is quieter and easier to climb with. MUDRUNNER
Re: Buying a Climber CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE SUMMIT.IT'S THE MOST COMFORTABLE STAND I HAVE USED,AND HAS NO PINS,CLIPS,OR BUNGEES.
tedicast
Re: Buying a Climber Another vote for Summit. Any of their climbers are top quality. I have a Broadhead Backpacker. I like this stand because it folds flat, and my hikes into the woods are normally on the long side.

spikekiller
Re: Buying a Climber I'm going to cast a vote for the Loggy bayou Illusion stand....it is very sturdy and comfortable....but it think it is only rated for 250# Loggy is running a sale.....my hunting buddy ordered the cosmetic blem GRS and it looked great. longislandhunter
Re: Buying a Climber I've used my summit climber for 4 years and absolutely love it. Quiet, comfortable, plenty of room, and easy to pack into the woods.
bowhtr1
Re: Buying a Climber Grand ol-man or the summit golith. the ol-man is easier to pack and makes no noise. Next in line is the Summit as far as noise. The summit is a little more comfortable.
tedicast
Re: Buying a Climber [ QUOTE ] The summit is a little more comfortable. [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, comfort is the main criteria to a stand. I don't mind a heavier, harder to pack stand, if it is comfortable. Guest bowhunter56
Re: Buying a Climber I have 2 summits, i like them , i like the solid construction, all welded, i had an api that was rivited, and noisy in cold weather... bowhtr1
Re: Buying a Climber I did say little more comfortable. Both of these are comfortable stands. ol-man and summit I will give up a little comfort for silence. (ol-man, no noise)
Guest Justwin24
Re: Buying a Climber My treelounge stand is great to hunt out of, but a pain to move. I leave mine in one spot all year and then move my Ol'man Titanium around. The Ol' man stand is also very comfortable. I like the net meshing to sit on much more then the hang down seats. After a few hours I feel my rear is only sitting on the straps under the seat. My back would end up sore as well in the seats that hang down. Orion_70
Re: Buying a Climber Ok, for the safest stand the Tree Lounge can't be beat. It takes a little getting used to as far as getting it in and setting it up but the sky is the limit in that stand. Next would be the Summit's. Huntr104
Re: Buying a Climber I'm 6' 1" and weigh 225. I bought the Summit Bullet-Backpacker this past season and LOVE IT. Best stand I've ever had, and the most comfortable. I occasionally doz off and I feel totally safe in the stand. But if you are bigger than me then definitely go with the Summit Goliath. You won't be disappointed with either one.
