toddyboman
Well UNDER OATH.... Clemens said he DID NOT use roids/HGH...... and Brian McNamee said Clemens DID us roids/HGH SO one of them is committing purgery....:( Clemens is being questioned about different instances where Petttitte claims this or that happened in regards to roids/hgh.....and Clemens is claiming (under oath) that Pettitte "mis-remembers". The way I hear it coming from Clemens is that Pettitte has a terrible memory.
craig mack
They're ripping Clemens on the radio here. Doesnt sound like he is looking to good right now.
Tominator
Got to thinking about this last night. I tend to believe Clemens is lying, but it's going to be tough to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" if it comes to that. I'm betting Clemens is betting that they won't pursue perjury indictments. buckbuster11
This is getting interesting. Clemens is really playing with fire here. The fact that Pettites statements, who for the last 10 years was Clemens best friend, seem to fit with what McNamee is saying leads me to believe Clemens is lying through his teeth. But, I can't imagine he would be dumb enough to lie under oath so I don't know what to believe at this point.
SuperMn106
I watched most of the hearing. I thought Roger looked a lot better than McNamee. They hammered McNamee for lying in his earlier testimonies and only bringing out other evidence only when it was convienent for him. They also noticed that every time they ask McNamee about how many times he injected Roger, the number went up every time. About the physical evidence that McNamee has (needles and gauze pads) there is no way that it should hold up in court. He has no chain of evidence for the 5 years or so he claims he has kept it. Who knows what he could have done with the evidence. IMO Roger is telling the truth and I see no other evidence to not believe him. Basically it is a case of he said-she said. That judge from Indian RIPPED McNamee.....I listened to that on the radio and it was FUNNY!! It was odd that McNamee's numbers changed everytime..... I found it odd that he kept this stuff, but I also found it odd the Clemens had a golf reciept from many years ago.....So on that instance I wondered if Clemens didn't doctor the reciept... VABuckSlayer
As much as I like Roger I think he's lying. I think he knows they can never prove it so he will deny it to the end.

Yea, I dont know about the golf receipt. What really got me is the fact that McNamee swore up and down that he seen Roger at a lunch at Jose Consecos house and Jose says Roger never showed up and he remembers that because he was disappointed Roger did not show up. Again I am not sure why he would keep the evidence for years.

str8shooter48
What a waste of taxpayers money. Who cares? How about a congressional hearing discussing why our decent paying jobs are heading overseas. Its time to focus on our dwindlng middle class not some overpayed ball player. texastrophies
I don't know if Roger did or not, and really don't care. Either way he has been an amazing pitcher. What I want to know is if you take RC completely out of the picture, why would anyone believe McNamee. As many times as he admitted that he had lied in different circumstances, it is obvious that he is a serial liar. I wouldn't believe anything he said, he would be destroyed by a lawyer if they ever got him on the stand. With that being said, I also believe RC did his fair share of lying yesterday, but at least he was passionate about it.

Shouldn't they be putting more of their time into helping the country get out of debt then/than worrying about RC taking roids? Baseball is trying to clean itself up so leave it alone! I've heard enough about this issue. It's time to play some ball!
muggs
The fact the the Republicans and Democrats are split right down the middle on this too. VABuckSlayer
I feel bad for Andy. You know he didn't want to rat out his friend. He(Andy P) might want to rat out his "friend" now.....Since his "friend" kept saying how he(Andy P) "mis-remembered" everything.... Think of what the questions might have been if Andy P was present yesterday and he probably would have had to answer them truthfully!!!....

Dang i hate to correct you when i'll only be on the computer for about 5 more minutes today , but the Reps were attacking McNamee and Dems were attacking Clemens . I think Clemens is delaying and delaying the inevitable here. I watched nearly all of it, and there is no doubt in my mind that he is lying. I just wish that all steroid use in the past could be let go, and that there would be strict drug testing from now on. That won't happen unless congress leaves this alone though. Randyman
Two of the Three people Mcnamee says he injected admit that it's true, i'm not sure why he would lie about Clemens. Clemens admits that Mcnamee injected his Wife, Debbie, with HGH in preparation for a photo shoot for SI's swimsuit edition, but Clemens himself never did it? Please! What a liar. PAhunter14
Heres the thing theres no way to PROVE what macnamee is saying, and there is no way to PROVE what clemens is saying. Look back through this forum all it is is everyones apinion, witch is all right, but you cant really prove any of if, macnamee has lied before so you cant beleive him now, and even if he hadnt lied before his testimony still wouldnt be enough. A seringe and guaze pad from five years ago, whats that prove??? How old is clemens? and he still is pitching in the big leauge...hmm but thats not proof either you cant say weather clemens did it or not. if he didnt then he didnt so be it, but if he did he has no choice but to lie, he cant say yes i did riods and hgh because no1 would "forgive" him. If he said yes i did the roids/hgh would he make the Hall of Fame? probly not. so if he did it he lies no1 can prove him wrong and he most likely makes the hall of fame. And keeps his "good name" for the most part. Unless other proof comes up its just your apinion, and a he-said/she-said.
