Turkeygirl
I myself, enjoy watching hunting, whether it's on the Outdoor Channel, etc....or a DVD or VHS. I especially like to watch archery just before the season, and turkey hunting right about now! I find watching hunting not only gets my psyched, lol, but it;s helpful to see what others do in certain situations. So any of your other ladies enjoy watching hunting on tv or DVD...or do you not really watch it that much, if at all? One thing that drives me nuts though, not offense to the rest of you, is when they do have a female on hunting...she's decked out in make-up, and can't even drag/carry her game back....come one, don't be a pansy in the woods, lol:D:rolleyes:
Guest Andrea
I watch it sometimes. They aren't showing them much now that almost everyone's seasons are over. Fishing is taking over. And I can't stand to watch fishing because I'd much rather be out there doing it myself!!! I have dragged my own deer out. But now I use my 4 wheeler. And I don't wear a lot of makeup anyway. Just the basics. But I usually wash it off before I hit the woods...
aksheephuntress
...Our whole family loves the hunting programs....and I am glad to see so many more women out there, actively hunting and portrayed on the shows. Yeah, I am not much of a makeup person, either- but, are you familiar with that really proficient huntress from Dallas, Texas who wears all that makeup on every hunt? She has been successfully harvesting all over the world for many years, now. I think that is neat .She started hunting against the wishes of her husband.-whatever the type of person-make-up, or not- Anything to get more women inspired to go out there....with their man, or as an individual....to experience the hunting experience. ....Of , course, I agree that a woman should be able to hold her own, and pack her own camp, and game out, as well! HuntingInMaine
We watch hunting shows almost daily. Some of the women are a little heavy handed with the makeup, but that's there thing. I'm usually getting up too early to bother with makeup, I need to make sure I've got all the right clothes on! I don't think there is anything wrong with needing help dragging out a deer, lots of guys need a hand too. I don't like it when they won't carry out their own turkey or other light-weight game. I also don't want them to be squealing about anything being "gross or yucky"....makes us all look like we are squeamish babies.
Deb
I enjoy watching the shows and the DVDs. I do like when you have the option of just watching the hunts and not having to see all the ads and filler.
Gus
Most of the time if my tv is on it is on the outdoor channel or one of the other outdoor type channels I get as long as there isn't a fishing show on. I have lots of hunting dvds, mainly predator calling, but also some deer and turkey dvds.
RangerClay
Even the biggest stars never drag out their deer. Not being a pansy but that is what they pay the outfitter for. Are you saying that you have never used a 4 wheeler or a tractor to drag out one of your deer Ruth?
