Thermacell (anyone used it)?

I've read some posts about Thermacell so I looked up the website since I had no idea what it was. The manufacturers state it works for sketters and black flies up to 15 ft high and in diameter. It's not expensive at 31 bucks.

Has anyone used it? Does it work? Would the smell of the heated repelent scare deer/bear away?

Mine was only $20 though.

yep, paid $21 for mine, I just bought the olive drab one, I bought the holster for it as well, figured no need to spend the extra cash for camo when it won't be seen. Bought one right before last season...GREAT investment:D:cool:...there is some odor, but from what I seen the deer didn't seem to mind it...

Use it a whole lot. It's the only thing I've ever used that keeps the bitting knats away. I've never used an insect spray that worked on bitting knats. Of course it also works great on any other pesky bitting insects too except for chiggers and ticks. You'll have to take other precautions for them if you need to.

So far no problem with deer smelling it or being spooked by it that I can tell. Might just be something that doesn't alert them to danger...not sure.

It will be in my turkey vest this spring too. ;)
