FSU_Seminole
The SakoA7. Same barrel as the Sako 85. The A7 is using a 2 piece bolt, that cuts manufact costs considerabley. The gun also has 3 locking lugs just like the Sako85. Suggested retail is 850-1000 bucks. I've seen new 700 rifles fall within that price range. I think I just found my 300wsm. http://www.sakoa7.net/
Leo
5 shot MOA guarantee! That's impressive, if anyone can meet that it's Sako.
aksheephuntress
Wow!...when did this happen? We really like Sako. Our last moose was taken with our model 61 in the .338. We'll have to check it out!
OJR
Looks like a very impressive rifle!
aksheephuntress
...I watched the clip on it just now,....I could'nt seem to find a weight on it...was it right under my nose??
aksheephuntress
...nevermind, I looked again and just found it....wow. I might have just found my sheep rifle.....now: .270, or .300wsm? ...My instincts tell me the 300. ...oh, WHAT is a girl to do????
OJR
Go with the 270! Easier and cheaper to get ammo! It will do the job just fine!
aksheephuntress
Yeah, I was thinking that , too....the .270 would seem like a more appropriate caliber for sheep, and I have had my eye on this Kimber Montana, anyway, in the .270...but the area I drew my sheep tag in is in some nice Toklak grizzly country, also...We each plan on having BB tags also; so my gut feeling would be the 300wsm. Plus,....it would be nice to have a short magnum. .....and would be an excuse to expand our reloading. .... ....maybe I should get one of both???(o.k., I've gotta be realistic....$$$ does not grow on trees.)...BTW I don't want anyone to think I blow $ all the time....I don't buy clothes for myself....and the kids are happy with their discounts. ...Why waste $ on clothes, when you can buy a gun??? I like your attitude. lol!!! My girlfriend wastes money on expensive hand bags but I don't complain one bit. She doesn't say a word about me buying new guns. I'm ecstatic about this gun. I don't own a short mag & I love the 300 wsm. I think its the best all around rifle for hunting out west but a .270 will do fine also. I still can't get over the price of this gun. I've been wanting a Sako85 but to be honest 1,600$ is steep right now. This gun is certainly within my ball park.
Leo
Hope this doesn't imply they are going to tank the Tikka T3. That would be a crying shame IMHO. Looks like the Sako A7 will fill the gap between Tikka T3 and Sako 87. That will put the Sako A7 in Direct competition with the new Winchester Mod 70s, Browning A bolts and Weatherby Vanguard sub-MOAs.

But a Beretta rep told them the Tikka 3 isn't going anywhere. The Tikka T3 will still be Beretta's "bargain" rifle. And stay in the 600-700 dollar range. This rifle will do exactly what you wrote. It will compete with the Win Mod 70s, Weaatherby Vanguard, the model 700 XCR and the new Browning XBolt rifle. The XBolt & A7 are near identical in price. njbowhntr
They just need to make on in 300RUM. If they did that, the order would be in. I will have to see what they do for later in the year or next year.
