I need some help on a washer and dryer...

I bought my wife a new washer and dryer. One of those front load type.

They set up on a drawer/pedestal. I had it all leveled up and when it goes into the spin cycle the dad-gum thing will walk across the floor.

For the life of me I can't figure out what is going on...

The dryer is fine. It's that dad-gum washer that goes into a break dance...

Would anybody out there have any ideas on what to do. I'm about idea out...

Thanks...

I got the front loads myself Griz with the additional pedestals and my washer will move a little but not walk around the floor like yours seems to be.

Sounds like a little leveling is still needed. You don't have one of them adjusters moving and not locked in place do you? Mine sit on a tile floor.

I know with those front loads the pedestals are awesome. Easier on your back! :)

Sounds like just more adjusting is needed. Maybe do a search and find an appliance forum. That is where I learned about the sock mesh bag.

My girls socks were getting lost in the washer, they were actually getting sucked into the pump. Did it until the machine gave me a fault code. Found the socks after I tore it apart! :)

Thanks bud...

I just came back from checking it one more time. Man that thing is solid as a rock. For the life of me I can't figure out why it moves like it does.

The only other thing I can come up with is to fasten some wood stirps on the floor and set the legs to the washer on the inside of the strips to keep it from moving around so much...

I'll do a search and see what I can come up with...

I tell ya...I had to laugh. This morning I was here on the computer when I heard my wife yell for help.

I jumped up and ran to were she was at only to find her pinned up against the wall holding onto the washer trying to keep it in place while it was spinnin'...:D:D

That was the funnest thing I have ever seen...

She didn't think so...But I did...:D:D

LMBO...:D:D

YEAH!!!

I'll Duct Tape that baby to the wall...With the wife...LMBO...:D:D

Red Green would be so proud! :D

I know ours Griz only moves if you put in too much of a load and its uneven. Still does not walk much but its against a wall and the dryer is to the right so its kinda stuck in there.

Good luck!!

If the thing is giving rides you ought to start selling tickets! :) LOL!!!

Our washer gets loads off balance often, being an older washer there is no alarm, it just keeps on going, and sometimes it will feel like it is going to shake the house off the foundation if you do not stop it. If it is not a problem with the loads being off balance, would agree to check the floor.

Hey Griz,

Check the base if it's the one I'm thinking of there are some bolts between the top part and the base for shipping purposes, dad had one do that to him, chased him all over until he took the bolts out, worked fine..... Check the manual....;)

checking the manuel is a good idea. but, my guess (just a guess) is over loading. btw, did you unpin your wife from the washer attack, or just laugh your way back to your morinig coffee.... lol

No, it's not over loaded. It will do it with 1 towel or 10...

Heck Steve I didn't want to ruin her fun...

So I went back to my morning Coffee...

LMBO...:D:D

The most important thing to a front load washer is that the base is level and then you need to level the washer after you are 100% sure that the base is level ... if you are just leveling the washer and the base together that will not work. I have gone on 100's of service calls where the washer is level but they leveled it with the legs on the washer instead of the base being level. Take the washer off the base and level it perfectly ... then reinstall the washer on the base usually its really easy you just screw the legs in all the way and its pretty close ... the less you have to unscrew the legs on the unit the more stable your washer will be ... also one more thing to check is to make sure every single shipping bolt is removed from the back of the washer if you missed a strap or a bolt it will do exactly what you are saying.

Thanks Steve...

Weeelllll! I didn't no about the shipping bolts until today...LOL...:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm hopeing that it didn't mess the washer up in anyway...

Man, that's all I need...

I had my wife reading the instructions when I started all of this. I guess she missed that part...:rolleyes:

Lastnight I poured a cement pad for the washer and dryer to sit on. My floor was way off level causeing me to have to crank one or two of the legs way out more then the other ones. So this pad that I put down is perfectly level. I'm thinking that this will help alot.

Man I sure hope so...

This has been a nightmare...
