[ QUOTE ] GO GET a better job & stop running every one else to the poor house ...my 2c [/ QUOTE ] If it were that easy to just go get a better job everyone would do it (including those employeed by walmart)! If everyone were to refuse to shop at walmart any more, how many people would be left unemployed? I am not sure how many people they employ in this country, but I am sure it is a lot! mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Walmart again.....!! I see both sides in this debate. Is walmart hurting our economy??? There is no doubt it plays a role. THey were the first company to facilitate in CHina and are pushing companys to build and or produce their products in China for better prices. This defiently hurts the good ole USA. Being in the auto industry I am aggrevated the goverment has not done anything about our import to export ratio!!! On the other hand they are the BIGGEST employer in the US. Of course the money they give is very low. They are bullies but at this point the govermetn has to step in. It is getting crazy how much we are going to depend on China and other low cost countries!!
VTbowman
Re: Walmart again.....!! I went to the local Walmart the other day and they had a lot of hunting accessaries on sale for $5 each. Some things were a decent deal and some were mere pennies below the original cost. LOL I guess someone had a bunch of red tag "$5.00" stickers at one time or another. LOL I took advantage of a couple things but not enough to write about. Opps, I guess I just did... he he he
Orion_70
Re: Walmart again.....!! Hmm.. I see this thread may stir up some debates. Do I shop at wal mart, yep, you betcha. They have the best prices. I also go to local pro shops for items wal mart doesn't carry. I also shop on the internet and will order guns from out of state and have them transferred by ffl in my local pro shop. Seems to me though if I can order the gun from out of state, pay shipping, pay the transfer fee, and still beat the pro shop price, maybe they're not doing something right. Walmart will order guns for you too. They order quantity and get the discount price, smart buying = smart shopping. China and hurting workers in this country were brought up. China's products have come a long way in recent years. They're good quality for the most part. Just look at the trade deficit for the amount of products imported. We import everything now because of cheap labor overseas. Labor is one of the largets costs to any company so they'll go where the labor is cheap and Walmart doesn't have any Unions. It's all about surviving as a business and so far they've succeeded.
wtnhunt
Re: Walmart again.....!! They had some good prices on a lot of stuff when I was in the wal mart here the other day. I picked up a few things. New ameristep full body harness for $11 was 20 something, scent away deoderant $2, seems like there was something else I cannot remember. mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Walmart again.....!! Orion....I absolutely agree with you. Walmart as a business is very smart. They have been ahead of the game. I was not saying china has bad product. THey are more advanced in some areas becasue it is all new equipment. Trust me I know. Our company buys components from Korea and China. THey are great for labor but also that makes companies move there and lays off good paying skilled labor jobs. They are basically substituting a $8/hr job for the $15/hr job. That makes it cheap to buy for us but is also bring it to a world economy. There is good and bad as I have siad but it hurts many people that have to get a job for half the price. I have been saying for years now. I would pay 10% more for a vehicle if I was protecting a neigbors job. You may think I am crazy but that is where I stand

johnf
Re: Walmart again.....!! [ QUOTE ] It's sad that the people of this country has became a bunch of money grubbers. just to kill a deer. [/ QUOTE ] You know some people have wives, children, pets, house payments, car payments, utilities, medical bills, credit card bills, gas for thier cars, and groceries that they have to buy before they can even think about hunting. Nearly all of my hunting equiptment comes from Wal-Mart except for my rifle scopes. And the vast majority I buy after hunting season is over, so I can get it on sale. If that makes me a money grubber, then so be it. If it weren't for Wal-mart I the only way I could hunt is to climb a tree buck naked and throw rocks at deer. fisherguy
Re: Walmart again.....!! Our walmart has a fairly limited outdoors section, but if you watch you can get really awesome deals on clothes, scents, and fishing tackle. Last year i got a hunting parka in January for about 50% of what i would have to pay anywhere else.
Shaun_300
Re: Walmart again.....!! wow, congrats on the deals at WalMart!! ya, fisherguy is 100% correct. the wal-marts in Canada, well in Ontario anyway dont have much to offer as for the hunting stuff. the fishing tackle has a fair selection, in most stores. i know the one in Kanata (Ottawa) has a great selection and the new Wal-Mart in Renfrew (40 mins west of Ottawa) has a good selection too. I find that some of the big Canadian Tire stores up here have some pretty good deals sometimes.... keyword: sometimes
