Wimpy
Re: what size do you shoot I only shoot 3 1/2 year olds, started doing this a couple of seasons ago and are starting to see more bigger bucks on my property now.

johnf
Re: what size do you shoot I have hunted pretty steady now for about 7 years. I've only seen 3 leagal bucks while hunting. Anything that is leagel that steps in front of me is going to drop if possible, and if I don't get buck fever.
KirkV
Re: what size do you shoot I have a rule here that it needs 8 points or more with a rack wider than it's ears. That usually gets them pretty nice!
Rhino
Re: what size do you shoot I try to kill mature deer wherever I hunt. The rack size of mature deer is larger in some areas as opposed to others. Where I hunt here in MS the rack size of a mature deer doesn't compare to the size of the racks on mature deer in some other areas of the country so I'm satisfied with letting younger bucks walk and try to kill mature bucks whatever the rack size is. Tominator
Re: what size do you shoot Pope and Young and up. I missed a 140 10pt back in November. As far as bucks go, we don't shoot little guys around here. Any doe is fair game though.
longislandhunter
Re: what size do you shoot I try to wait for a buck with the antlers at least outside the ears in width, but towards the end of the season if I haven't already taken a doe or 2 to fill the freezer I'll draw down on smaller racked bucks. EIGHTPOINT
Re: what size do you shoot I'll jump on ther Penna. band wagon. Here in Penna. 150 class deer do not abound like out there in the mid west golden triangle. I like them to be at least ear tip wide and be 2 1/2 or older. I can't pass up for something that does not exist in my area. On the other hand, If I am hunting an area that has deer of that caliber , like Iowa then your standards will change. I personally don't guage my hunts based on how big of a buck I shoot.
