Been peppered a couple of times too dove hunting.

The worst experience I've had though was when I was deer hunting in the woods about 50 yards from a crop field on a place I used to hunt in Louisiana. There must have been some deer in the field because some idiot decided to shoot at them from a road ~500 yards from the edge of the woods I was hunting in. All I could do was hug the backside of the tree while I heard bullets buzz by me that I guess had skipped off the ground. The idiot unloaded, reloaded and unloaded again. I never checked to see if he hit anything but fortunately he missed me.

Been shot with BB guns a lot as a kid. Have been shot at twice on separate occasions (intentionally), but never hit. Both guys were arrested. Have had my house shot, and have had the passenger in a stolen vehicle point a shotgun at me from the rear window of an older model full size Blazer during a pursuit. He never got a shot off though...

It is a little amazing to see how many people that have had the opportunity to taste lead. Personally, I have a bullet from a .22 short lodged against the bone in the back of my thigh. I have also been hit in the shoulder by a buckshot pellet which did not penetrate my coat but it left a nice welt. Have also been "rained" on by shot from other waterfowl hunters. I guess my question to those who have been shot would be; Were you friends or an acquaintance of the person who shot you? The bullet in my leg came from someone that I thought was a friend (he thought it would just sting a little).

My buddy got shot in the shoulder by his own cousin because his cousin was a spoiled little city kid and my buddy told him to give him the gun so he could shoot a turtle on a log. Shot him at point blank range in the shoulder. He was aiming for his face. He has a scar that looks like a foot trying to kick it's way out. Funny scar but could have been much worse.

In my case it's a guy I teach with, and still do to this day. He shot me the first year he and I taught together. He's still a friend, I'm sure he didn't mean to shoot me, in fact, he didn't believe it when I said he did, I had to show him the holes. Ohiobucks knows who I'm talking about, this guy just gets too excited about game, and he loses his head from time to time.

The nail gun reminded me of another time I was shot. Framing a wall towards the end of the day and my buddy and I were trying to get done so we could get home and grill some brats. I was running studs and laying them out, and was grabbing the plate and shooting it off, and he missed just as I was walking past with another load of studs. Funny thing was, the nail went in head first, not point first. I still have the half moon scar in my calf. :D

Know a guy whose framing crew thought it would be MUCH FASTER to duct tape the trigger down on the nail gun so all they'd have to do is just bump it on the boards to nail it.

Well, come lunch time...the guy with the nail gun just lays it down on the steps of his ladder. His friend backs up without knowing and hits his head on the gun. BAM! Right into his skull. Rushed him to the ER. I never heard if he lived or died.

I was a framer for the better part of 12 years seen alot of accidents with nail guns but I only shot myself once when a gun was froze up in the winter got a little sticky on me that happens though. However I had a close call working way up in the air one time that probably would have cost me my life apparently my number wasn't up yet. And yet on another occasion when I was 9 a cranky old man shot me with his 12 gauge full on with rock salt. He was upset because I was helping myself to his cherries in the orchard didn't think it was that big of a deal was just hungry coming home from crawdading down at the creek.
