Adjam5
I was looking to put a winch on my ATV. 2500-3000lb capacity. I see some inexpensive ones on Ebay, like Venom and Extreme. These are full kits with mounting plates for $105. Wonder if they are worth it? Any info appreciated.

texastrophies
If you plan on the winch itself getting muddy or wet, you need to go with the Warn 3000# or higher. They are a sealed unit. The 2500# and lower are not sealed. Just remember the old saying, you get what you pay for.
aksheephuntress
yup, I wouldn't have anything besides a Warn.
snapper
I have a 2500 Mile Marker...no probs. what so ever with the winch itself. Little cheaper (not much) than a Warn and seems to be in the same class. Can't go wrong with a Warn...but why spend the extra $ if you don't have to? WHISKEYSWAMP
I have a superwinch 3000 on my 700 sportsman... about a $100 dollars cheaper than a warn winch when I bought it... no need to spend the extra money in my opinion. 98chevy
I have 2 winches that I use. A cheap venom and a expensive commertial 3700 warn. My 4000 venom is on my rhino which had been under and covered in mud and water alot. I have been surprised that it still works to be honest. Now my 3700 goes from trialer to trailer or out on the job sight to pull trees or what ever. once my venom dies Ill stick with the warn. If I had to just buy one though. I would get a warn cuss I no ill have no problems. I had a 2500 warn (I think) that I ripped the motor off but it was my fault. Other then that no problems with warns of mine. Shaun_300
I have a 2500lb Warn for the Outlander, just haven't put it on yet. All my uncles have Warns and they love them!
Adjam5
Thanks for the info guys. Warn looks like a winner. The winch has been put off because of the upcoming Rio hunt in Texas;). On the back burner for now.
