buckee
I nodded once in a treestand, and the tightened belt woke me up real quick. I always make sure it is basically taught while I'm sitting, just in case. I have curled right up on the ground in my ground blind before..LOL. Got there early, and took a nap. :D I knew the deer wouldn't be coming out of the bushline for at least an hour and a half or so. And then there was the time, about 27 years ago, when I was hunting blacktails up in the mountains. I had this favourite spot, where I would sit in this burned out forest, just in off the slash. There was a deep ravine, with a creek not too far to the south of me, and I was up on a little knoll, sitting under an old burned fir tree. It was a sunny September day, I had my 30/30 leaning against the tree, beside me, and as I sat there, I dozed off. All of a sudden, I woke with a start, and there was this huge black bear, about 7 feet away from me, with his butt to me, walking away. As I reached for my gun, in panic, he looked over his shoulder, gave a grunt, and galloped off. To this day, I don't exactly know "WHAT" woke me up. I keep asking myself, "did he sniff me ....did he lick me....did I smell him?". I shudder to think, because he must have came up from the ravine behind me, and walked right past me ... How close he actually got while I was dozing, I have no idea.

Well let's just say I have a time or two in the past, but, now as you know I am hunting in an area where guys don't wear pants(oo buck) and some guy that has a split personality(SRA/SRAII) so I am not sure if I wanna sleep anymore! Adjam5
Do I ever give myself heart attacks. When I bowhunt, 90% of the time I am in a tree with my climber. I like to get in a hour or more before light and snooze a bit untill game time. Set my cell phone to wake me. But the intial wake up makes me forget now and again, depending how deep I was snoozing:rolleyes:: where I am. I open my eyes and see a long drop and usually jump a bit until I realize where I am. Then I feel the harness and I remember where I am Then I say to myself..."self, you gotta stop falling asleep in trees":D Gun season, I almost always hunt out of a box blind on the ground. Comfy with heat too if its cold. To say I don't fall asleep in that time to time would be a gross understatement.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
When I first started hunting, I would just find a tree to lean against and sit on the ground, can't cout how many times Ihave fallen asleep like that . now, the only time i'll nod off in a treestand is if I am in my climber, I feel more safe in that than any other stand. Tominator
Last few years, yep, I put my head back and close my eyes. Don't think I've ever fallen asleep, but I have nodded off a few times.
BowJoe
I used to doze off in my API Grandslam Shooting Star. I love that thing. Comfortable as all get out and a foot rest to boot. Like I'm in a recliner 30 feet up. Oddly enough, the higher I get in a tree, the more comfortable I am. I love the view.
GobblerBuster618
I have dozed off a few times. I always have the belt on when i do tho. my most comfortable stands to sleep in are ladder stands tho.
camoman1
every once in a while in a treestand i will nod off ( reason #1 to wear your safety belt!!) And just about every morning in the duck boat before its time to put out decoys. Gotta be guarding the weed bed a good 2 hours before sunrise so someone else dont beat ya to it. Rockin on the waves and watchin the shooting stars is relaxing...cant help but doze off.
