preacherman
Does anyone know anything about this web browser? Was thinking about changing from Internet Explorer to it and was wanting some feedback.
Leo
You can't update windows through it nor utilize any activeX controls. Actually the above makes it a safer to use daily browser than IE. You still need IE for some particular websites. But Mozilla will make you think about how bad you need to get on that site. It doesn't Totally replace IE but for a general browser it's a good way to go.
BowJoe
I have it and I utilize ActiveX Controls. It offers me the option to use it and I make the decision based on the request process. I've yet to find a web page I couldn't go to with Firefox. I do agree that some features of a web page may not be compatible with Firefox such as Bit Defender but then, I just use my old IE and it's all good. The thing I love about it is that I have Forecast Fox, Faster Fox and themes. Forecast Fox is really cool especially for hunters. You have all of that information at a glance and you don't have the risk of installing any themes or add-ons with extra programs or cookies like you do with weather bug. Not to mention that everything you add is virus free and created by other users for the pure enjoyment of a cool feature or design. No advertising or commercially supported programs that make you download their junk which in turn allows even more junk to be put on your computer without your permission. Just an all around better program and I really love having live web pages at the touch of a button.
Guest Finn
I've used Firefox for about 2-3 years now...switched because I was getting pop-ups with IE. I have 1 realty site I can't view the pictures of homes on, but that's the only one I've found problems with in all this time.

Adjam5
We just bought a new Dell tower and it came pre loaded with IE. I am downloading Firefox for the browser. We had it on the old PC and it is a better browser to me. I reccomend it.

M00N
I've been a loyal Firefox user for years. I still need to use Internet Explorer to update Windows XP, because Microsoft blocks Firefox, since it's a competitor. Other than that I can visit any website with Firefox (Once I installed all the plugins available to enable Acrobat, Flash, Shockwave, Java, Etc...). I'm a big fan of the Firefox browser when compared to Internet Explorer. I feel Firefox provides a much better pop-up blocker, prevents a lot of hidden spyware embedded on websites from auto-downloading secretly, and even has the ability to remove those annoying advertisement banners on websites that are covered in them. Plus I find it to run smoother and faster than Internet Explorer does. Ontop of that you can customize through the use of themes how the browser looks. If you like big buttons, want to match your desktop theme, etc. all you have to do is simply search their site for a similar theme to your liking, download, and enable it. Plus you can completely arrange how your want your buttons and favorites to be displayed at the top of the screen, too. They also offer tons of extensions that can be downloaded and installed to add extra features. They practically have everything under the sun from spell checkers to feed readers, etc. For example, I have an extension (Check4Change) on my Firefox that will tell me when a website updates by playing music on my speakers. It's great for watching last minute Ebay auctions for changes without having to sit there and hit the refresh button and watch the screen. Now all I have to do is highlight the text I want to watch, turn the feature on, turn on the speakers, and walk away within listening distance and wait for it to play some music to tell me my Ebay auction updated. The best thing of all is it's completely free! If you do try it I recommend the following two extensions and one extension add-on... - Adblock Plus (Adds more customizable popup/advertisement banner blocking abilities!) - Adblock Filterset.G Updater (An add-on for the Adblock Plus that pulls a blacklist database of bad websites and advertisement strings to add to the Adblock Plus to block even more advertisement junk!) - Tab Mix Plus (Adds more tab abilities and features!) unioncountyslayer
Scott, it's the way to go in my opinion. I mananged to get infected with Spyware twice while running IE. I've had Firefox a little over a year now and no Spyware problems. I also run Mozilla Thunderbird for my email, and have been very happy with it as well.
