Swamphunter
I am in the market for a new stand that I want to set-up on my property that is really comfortable and I tend to sit all day. This is why I need something good a comfy.
Leo
Day hunt stands need to be good! Whatever you do don't let anyone talk you into a "Face the tree" stand for hunting all day. I've done that. Trust me your neck will never forgive you after a 12hr sit! They don't make mine anymore but the Summit Goliath SS is probably at least as good or likely better. That's the one I'd get. Honestly.
SuperMn106
I have sit in my brothers Tree Lounge before and that is one comfortable stand but if your going to be bow hunting in it I do not like it. You have to stand up and then you are away from the tree and exposed. If you are wanting an all day day that is comfortable and mainly a gun stand I would suggest the Tree Lounge. johnf
If your going to "Set it up" wouldn't a ladder or hang on be a better bet than a climber? I would look at something like this SS lounger or the Summit folding trophy chair. $125 $70 Of course with the summit you would have to have something to put your feet on. I would think that bar under your thighs would bother you after awhile on the one on top. These summit sling chairs are great on their climbers. Don't see how this would be any different. This looks like it would be pretty comfy too. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0033295416995a&navCount=7&podId=0033295&parentId=cat20051&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat21424-cat20011-cat20051&catalogCode=7IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20051&hasJS=true You can get ladder stands on sale at walmart pretty cheap if you can find one. HUNTINGMAN
Have not seen or used one but the tree lounge looks like a recliner that goes in a tree.I would probably spend some time napping if I had one of those.
LifeNRA
I can sit all day in this!!! If you get one of these stands, I do highly recommend the deluxe backpack straps!!! http://www.summitstands.com/catalog.aspx?catid=goliath
Swamphunter
Sorry, I didn't clarify it in my original post....I am not in the market for a climber. I have two already. I want a couple of stands that I can chain on and leave there through the entire season. Either a nice ladder stand or a lock on. Thanks
wtnhunt
Probably something along the lines of the summit trophy chair with a platform. Would not suggest gorilla hang on stands for extended hunts.
AaronS
Make sure it had a foot rest. The flip up foot rest on my Summit Viper makes a huge difference in comfort.
Ohiobucks
I've hunted out of a number of hang on stands, they are OK, but I wouldn't say all day long comfortable OK. I have a Remington ladder stand that is extremely comfortable. It is only 15' though. I would be looking into some of the taller ladder stands on the market. Check how the seat is positioned as well, a sling type seat is alot more comfortable than a seat with a bar under it.

johnf
This is cheap and looks like it wouldn't bee too bad. It would probibly need some modifications, like a pad for the seat and shooting rail or stick. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0046989418051a&navCount=1&podId=0046989&parentId=cat280017&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21424-cat20011-cat20051-cat20051-cat280017_TGP&catalogCode=7IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat280017&hasJS=true This looks like it would be great with a chair from home or one of those summit chairs. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424-cat20011-cat20051-cat20051-cat280017_TGP-cat280017&id=0049010416265a&navCount=2&podId=0049010&parentId=cat280017&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=OG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat280017&hasJS=true I've hunted out of these and they are NOT all day comfy.http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/vertical-pod3.jsp?id=0014701&navCount=6&parentId=cat280017&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat21424-cat20011-cat20051-cat20051-cat280017_TGP-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017_TGP&parentType=index&indexId=cat280017&rid= I've thought about building another ladder stand with a large platform and doing something like this with it. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/vertical-pod3.jsp?id=0032872&navCount=7&parentId=cat280017&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat21424-cat20011-cat20051-cat20051-cat280017_TGP-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017-cat280017_TGP-cat280017&parentType=index&indexId=cat280017&rid=

Guest bjb0326
Save yourself some money and go to Wal-mart and buy you some of the lock on ladders 20' and use your climbers as perm stands. If that doesn't work for you Ameristep puts out some great products for the ladder stands, however in my opinion you can't beat the Summit stands, climbers or lock-ons. Lock-ons with a summit seat talk about comfort.... and as mentioned earlier what ever you choose make sure you add a foot rest to complete your quest for comfort... Don't be afraid to try a ground blind they work great and are very easy to set-up and take down, and extremely comfortable and packable so you don't have to leave them out to where someone could steal it. And always remember to buy a Saftey vest/harness when using tree stands.. Good Luck, Happy Hunting God Bless All...
fly
Can only tell you what isn't good for all day, because none of mine are. My favorite stand is the Summit open shot. Light, portable, and the best choice for my mile+ walk ins. However, my back starts screaming after about 5-6 hours. My Gorilla BabyKong is my least favorite. It's a hang on and the seat is terrible. After about 2 hours I have to start standing up and beding my legs. There needs to be a lot of padding to the seat if there are metal bars supporting it. The swing seats may be the way to go. Lazy boy needs to get into the tree stand business.

Too many scumbags, and too expensive of a stand.
xOZx
We use mainly ladders, probably around 15 of them. We have a couple of hang-ons but they are not "all-day" stands. We tend to only put the hang-ons where a ladder is not possible. The ladders are much more comfortable. We have a variety of brands. There are several goo ones. Just go to the store and check them out is best. You want one that looks stout, has a nice seat size and a good sized platform where you stand. The ones with little arm rests tend to be more comfortable as well.
peteski
I have a Loggy Bayou Monarch that I really like. Its the most comfortable hang-on I've tried, but I haven't pulled an all day sit in it yet.
