I am working on a club just for kids and it will be a continuation of hunter education. We will be teaching safety and marksmanship!

This club is going to go and if it does, the kids will be shooting all year long!

We are also working with the Fish & Game on getting this thing off the ground!

Mississippi has a special youth gun season for deer, a youth turkey season, and a youth squirrel season. In each case youth hunters get a week to hunt before the regular season opens.

Other organizations like the NWTF have their youth programs too. If you check out some of these organizations you'll find many have programs geared toward youth hunters.

Here, we got a Youth Deer and Bird combo license for $9, a youth turkey tag for $5. Other incentives, Youth can hunt any season, draw or non-draw, big game, upland birds, or wild turkey, but they share a supervising adults bag limits. There is also mentored hunting programs, where youth can hunt certian days under the supervision of an adult if they don't have someone to take them normaly. There's also Waterfowl heritage days, where youth get a week to hunt waterfowl without buying a license. I say we have enough programs that any interested youth has opporatunity to cut his teeth.
