wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. The otpg are a group of shooters who feel dead is deader with a magnum, and they supposedly have something against cocoa, although seems that their leader was once photographed sipping on some hot cocoa. snapper
The otpg are a group of shooters who feel dead is deader with a magnum See thats where you "scopers" get confused...there is no such thing is overkill...dead is dead! OTPG shooters understands ballistics and knows that anything a reg. rifle cal. can do...a magnum can do better in the same class! And yes, we have something against cocoa. Dubie
Lets put it this way, would you rather be hit by a smart car going 10mph, or a semi-truck going 60mph? Similar principles apply to bullets

Hmmm, seems I recall an official member or two of otpg mentioning something about killing critters "deader" with a magnum:p. How about a refresher:p: Quote: Originally Posted by VermontHunter Are you sure ??? ... :D:D Now there's dead and there's DEADER ,, Yep right here plain as day, from the leader of the otpg himself:rolleyes:. Oh....................I dunno, Al. Maybe you missed the pics I posted a while back of the 2 chucks I toasted with the .375 Wby. One at 160 yds and the other at 275 yds (there goes the "I can place my shots better with a little gun" argument out the door ). They were at least dead, if not deader. ...........then there was the chuck Hangunnr smacked at around 150-160 yds with his .458 Win Mag handgun the week of the OTPG Blast Off. Definitely deader. Tominator
How did this dead Horse stumble to it's feet again! New members keep bringing it up. Maybe I should move future inquiries to the rifle room.

Strut10
Ok guys help me out here. What is the off the porch gang? Im new here and curious.. WELCOME to the forums!! :D Here it is in a nutshell: The OTPG is a 50-some member strong society of the internet's most serious, high-performance gun enthusiasts who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. We are subject from time to time to squabbly squeaks of protest coming from the wittle-wee gun crowd.......OTPG wannabes (or SCOPE as they are sometimes called). Most SCOPErs are just potential OTPG members which have yet to be shone upon by the rays of magnum enlightenment. Some, however, I believe are just waaaay to attached to their cocoa to ever make the upgrade. The OTPG is an active shooting group, holding our 1st OTPG Blast Off this past November. We shot magnum rifles and handguns from 7mm Rem Mag to 50 BMG out to 600 yards with frightening accuracy. Another Blast Off is slated for the end of this coming April. If you yourself are a magnum shooter and have a well established distaste for cocoa...........membership in the hallowed and envied halls of the OTPG is just a PM to me away. Scroll back through the last year or so of posts in the Rifles forum if you find yourelf with some extra time. You'll find some very informative and entertaining stuff there. Strut10
My bad...deader is much more than dead! I know your'e right. I guess if some of these SCOPE-type fellers never kilt a critter deader than dead.......they wouldn't understand.
TexasDeerHunter
Once was a magnum shooter and left it all for a kinder, gentler shooting gun. My prey falls just as dead now as they did with the magnum. Guess I just realized that I need not shoot a mag in order to compensate for something else. LOL
