Bowtech_archer07
Tuesday, there was a threat found in a bathroom in a residence hall here at school(Illinios State University) that said "ISU is the next NIU." Why do people have to do this copycat stuff. This is really scary!:( Now an email just got sent out saying that if you don't want to go to class, you don't have to and you won't be penalized. Am I an idiot for still going to class? I mean, if nobody goes to class, isn't that kind of giving in?
Guest Andrea
I wouldn't take it lightly. Especially if you are the only one of a handful still in class and some idiot busts thru and starts shooting. Go home. Don't wanna hear about you on the news today... Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
They should have just cancelled class all together, being that the weekend is coming up. Some people (me for example) would still go to class, if class is still going on then the instructor is teaching something. And those who chose not to go are missing important info. Stay safe and hope everything turns out ok
ybronco
If there giving the option I wouldn't go until they say its clear. Not worth risking it.
OJR
There are a bunch of crazy fools out there! Who knows where they are going to hit next! I would go to class. A person can't live in total isolation because of these idiots! I would be on high alert for anything out of the ordinary!
PotashRLS
I would go too. Maybe you'll get extra credit:). Bring a bunch of those "This house is protected by Smith & Wesson" signs and hang em on the classroom door.
fly
Hey bowtech, I teach at an Illinois University and if an announcement from the University came through like the one you mentioned you better believe myself as well as all of my students would NOT be in class. It wouldn't be optional it would be CANCELLED! I agree that you can't live in a bubble, but life is about taking calculated risks. With the recent events in Virginia and Northern Ill. I'd so the risks outweigh the benefits.
Bowtech_archer07
Well, I decided not to go to class and head home to be w/ family. I just didn't think that going to class worth the risk. I agree you can't live in a bubble either, but this was just too much risk.
stevebeilgard
good to have a day off now & then, but i won't miss classes because some jerk want's to get off. i'd have gone to class. and i suspect you went home to have a 3 day weekend, not due to being scared. at least i hope so.
