The Kid
has anybody ever used these, i was just wondering if there worth the money, there kind of expensive, does anybody shoot them?
punkinslinger
I used them until they "out-priced" the Hevi. With the rebates that Hevi offers it was a no-brainer for me. The Wins did shoot well but too much coin.

joetex25
I tried several brands and price ranges of ammo when patterning my 835 and I found the Wincheste Elite worked best for MY gun. I know myself, and I'm sure most others, invest a lot of time, and spend a BUNDLE on all types of equipment for the opportunity to harvest a gobbler. When it comes time to pull the trigger, I want to be firing off a round that is going to be putting out a great pattern. And at that point, I don't care if the round cost $4.00. If I had saved money by shooting a "cheap round", but it injured rather than harvested the gobbler, I didn't save a darn thing, and I'd have to live with that image for years to come! Paying more for the right ammo for Turkey hunting is an easy rational for me. After all, it's not like shooting trap!! Good Luck!! Joe Hope you did not misinterpret what I meant about the Winchs...my 935 shoots better patterns with the Hevis and IS cheaper is what I was meaning. To each his own...I use to shoot the Nitros at $6 a shot through a $110 Rhino choke and that was the Holy Grail of turkey rounds til I found there was no need to go to that extreme...my 935 with a Pure Gold choke shooting Hevis will flat pound them and kill them just as dead! Let me add...the Hevis I use are the new bronze 3.5" with the 2.25 oz payload. The red hulled ones were junk in my 935 and 835.
joetex25
Punkinslinger I understood what you meant, and I really wasn't targeting that statement, 'cause Hevi's aren't cheap either. The statement was more to head off someone just flat out suggesting to stay away from the "more expensive loads", simply because they are more expensive. Yes, any load can kill a turkey...given the right situation. Of course the choice of what to use is personal, but hopefully it's made after patterning enough different loads to see the difference between them, and being able to determine what patterns better out of YOUR gun.. Unfortunately (?) MY gun does pattern better with the "more expensive loads". But when the time comes, I don't care what it cost me when I pull that trigger! Whatever y'all use, shoot straight, and carefully!! Joe
Strut10
my testing has shown that the Win High Density rounds pu from 10%-15% more pellets on target at any given distance than the Winchester Supreme lead rounds. This is the case in my test gun. Your results may vary.
Guest spit_drum
Too exspensive in my opinion, and the winchester hv supremes work just as well. i killed a gobbler in kansas last year at 62 yards with these shells, and a benelli sbe. I've been trying to say the same thing around here for quite a while now myself!! That's why I shoot the Nitro shell and Rhino choke, awesome combo!!!! Rhino
All shotgun/choke combinations are different. Last year I replaced my old Rhino .660 choke with a new Rhino .660 2" extended choke since it was showing some wear. I patterned 3 different shot sizes from both Remington and Winchester shells including Winchester Supreme Elite shells. Like Joe said, you want the best pattern you can find for your shotgun/choke combination. The results with my shotgun/choke combination were very disappointing with all of the Winchester Supreme Elite shells I tried. Sure patterning those Winchester shells cost me about $100 but like Joe, I believe you should search for the best fit of shell to shotgun/choke combination to your weapon. This year I'm going to try some of the Nitro loads. BTW, my old Rhino choke liked Remington #5 turkey loads. My newer Rhino choke likes Remington #6 and 4x6 loads. Both throw great patterns. The other shells I tried so far didn't come close to the performance of those 2 loads.
HUNTINGMAN
I cant stand giveing that high price for heavy or win elites,I am going to try some sort of copper plated load first and if I cant get a good pattern then I will try the more expensive shells. Try the Winchester Supremes. A buck a piece and consistantly shoot well with most any application.
joetex25
Try the Winchester Supremes. A buck a piece and consistantly shoot well with most any application. Strut10: I found that to be very true with my gun! The Supremes did have a very good pattern. And supporting what you stated previously, the Winchester Elites placed more pellets on the paper, with an even better pattern! Joe
