punkinslinger
Guess we are lucky...thought I saw one team with 3-4 no-nos!
rhine16
We are very lucky.... On my deer team, 7 of 10 checked in.... then only 2 of us ever posted more than like 5 times. I entered the only deer, but 3 different teammates said they killed one....
Bowtech_archer07
Wow, hope that doesn't happen here rhine. I can't wait until my season rolls around. Went out shed hunting and saw 2 jakes, a flock of hens, and 2 longbeards.. One of them had a rope on him!!!! 10-11 inches easy!!! I am ready for this season!!! punkinslinger
What are you totin'??? I'll be using my Mossberg 935 with a .670 Pure Gold choke shooting Hevi-Shot 3.5" 2.25 oz load of 6's. This will be my 34th year or so of chasing turkeys. What say you???
Bowtech_archer07
Good luck Rhine.. Can't wait to get a bird on the board!! I'll be using my Mossberg 500 12 ga. with an Undertaker Choke tube shooting Remington Nitro 3" #5 shot. This year will be the 6th year that I have turkey hunted... I've killed 3, last year was my first longbeard.
rhine16
I'll be using my Remington 870 12 gauge. This will be my 9th season, but i'm really excited about this one because it will be the first that i really get to hunt. My hunts have had to be planned around baseball for the past 6 years. I've only killed 4 birds in that time. My last coming when i was 15. Here's a pic of my last bird. I'm on left of course
jm23494
Got a phone call from my parents last night stating that the flock has been out behind their house for the past few nights. I'll be using a Benelli M1S90 with a Jellyhead .655 choke. Have to do a little bit more testing as far as shell combination since I got it a few months ago. I still have the trusty Mossberg 500 if I can't get a combination in time.
Gus
Checking back in with you folks, I am back from my little hunting trip for the opening week of the season at my cousins place, no good news for the team, but Monday afternoon I did score on my first exotic animal here in Texas which was a blackbuck. We got to my cousins place Sunday night and about the time we got there it starting raining, really never let up and the sun never did shine until we were packing up our stuff to head back home Wednesday about lunch time. The season starts in the county where my place is next weekend, I checked my cameras yesterday morning and I have a few longbeards running around my place, so maybe I will have a little better luck with both the turkeys and the weather. Tuesday afternoon while I was napping and wishing the rain would just go away and the sun would shine, I should have stayed awake because my cousin woke me up and told me he just got a gobbler, I thought he was just jacking with me, but I got up and went outside and sure enough he had gotten one with a 9 inch beard and 1 and 1 1/4 inch spurs. I will post up some pics of his bird and my blackbuck this weekend and in the next couple of weeks hopefully a big ol gobbler that I get. maddhunter
Welp just checking in. Our season doesn't open until April 6th. But we do have a youth season in which I will be takeing my son.Hopefully we can get him a bird and find some to set up on opening day of regular season. And as for Brad if he hasn't checked in by now he either isn't going to or something may of happened that he can't. Either way I would vote to replace him. But I would give the other tams that have more no-shows than we do a chance first. GOOG LUCK ALL!!!!!!!!!!
Gus
Been getting a few pictures of some nice gobblers, sure hope this weekend I get to introduce a swarm of #4s to Mr Gobbler from my Mossberg
punkinslinger
Going to try and get out this weekend for some scouting for my son. The PA youth hunt is April 19 and I have been pimping out his Rem 870 20 gauge. I got him an Aimpoint mount, red dot scope and just ordered him a .555 Pure Gold choke. I may even shelf my Moss 935 if this things patterns like I anticipate it will.
Bowtech_archer07
Sounds good punkinslinger. I'm getting a new scope this weekend for my Mossberg 500 12 ga. as my other one lost zero. I'm going to get it sighted in, then pattern some loads and get ready for my season which opens up April 19!! Can't wait!!! Anybody's season open up yet??
