Sorry I have not been able to contribute to the team guys, with one week left, looks like my chances of getting a bird this year are about nil.

Been a pretty screwed up spring here weather wise this year, back to flooding here again this weekend, the bottom where my best chances to ambush a bird are is under water again. No excuses though, I had a couple mornings I was between a few birds and had them talking pretty good, and just could not call them in.

Congratulations again to everyone who has tagged a bird.

Seen a jake and a few hens last night in a wheat field. 190 yards from our spot, little far away for my Mathews to shoot! :) Had fun though, new spot and went with a new guy that has never turkey hunted, he was excited but wonder why the jake never came towards us, he showed he wanted too but didn't close the distance. I told him, that is part of hunting, you never know what a turkey will do! :) Plus its what keeps you going back!!

Good luck everyone!

I'm proud to say that my 8 year old son got his first turkey last Saturday...I also tagged my second bird last Wednesday. It's been a good season for our family! I hope to get the pics posted later tonight!

That is awesome, congrats to your son and to you again! :D

I had a gobbler about 60 yards out but he would not come closer and I am doing it with my bow so he needs to come a little closer next!!! :D

Going out tomorrow too, should be fun. I have till the 31st of this month.

Good luck to everyone still out there chasing turkeys!

Last day here guys and Lou didn't score!

Left with the Tom getting the hen and the last laugh. He was out about 200 yards strutting to my call and seen my decoy but he had the real McCoy and he and her headed to the pines to roost. I don't have access to their roosting spot on the next parcel over but next year I am going to ask permission and try to get closer.

Did have fun this year, hunted 4 different counties and seen birds, just couldn't get any in bow range as that was my weapon of choice this year. I figured I can shoot it just as good as my gun and I was hunting out of a ground blind.

May in Michigan was weird this year. Nice weather but when we got it the winds were 20 to 30 MPH and that stinks when trying to call.

Sorry guys I could not contribute to our score, did have fun reading your stories and your success. May all of you have success in the fall chasing whitetails too!

Take care and its been a pleasure being on Exturkinators Posse.

Lou
