Guest Oneshot7
The first year, I absorbed everything I could, and trust me that was A LOT! NEVER leave a spot to check another spot before 10 o clock unless you have one hammering off at you. That cost me a gobbler twice. They also have great eyesight and it probably is not the best idea to try to stalk them. That cost me one too. There is alot that I am missing, but the most important thing is to scout for at least a week and learn their pattern without spooking them. crazylegz70
I will have to double check, but my season starts may 7 i believe. I got the late season in Illinois which sucks, but I still should be able to down a bird.

LifeNRA
Looks good! But it will have to be resized! I haven't been able to play with anything! Your sig pic is about as big as the guidelines for the forums. Make one that size and we will be set! ;)

billkay
Getting excited here. Season in KY starts on the 12th. I'll have the entire season to hunt. Saw about 50 birds, mostly hens, when I was down there last week. The toms will be there. I'll apologize in advance, I've been exceptionally busy, which is a good thing since I'm freshly self-employed. My time here to check in may be limited between work and lack of signal where I'll be, but I promise I will enter any bird I kill. Good luck everyone! crazylegz70
Not going to lie, I broke down today and spent 5 bucks on a primos mouth call. I have heard that box calls are really easy to learn on and I have played around with them before, but I am going to try and learn to use the mouth call in the next month. If I'm not satisfied with how it sounds by season start, I will use a box call I think. ANY ADVICE?
LifeNRA
Practice, practice, practice!!! Oh and PRACTICE SOME MORE!!! Take it with you when driving, alone of course, unless you have somebody along you want to drive nuts! The Primos CD, Mastering The Art, I heard is good! Last thing, PRACTICE!!! RangerClay
Practice, practice, practice!!! Oh and PRACTICE SOME MORE!!! Take it with you when driving, alone of course, unless you have somebody along you want to drive nuts! The Primos CD, Mastering The Art, I heard is good! Last thing, PRACTICE!!! Great advise!! That is how my dad learned how to use his mouth call. His job required him to drive a lot so he practiced while driving. You could practice going back and forth to college. Don't worry if your calling sounds funny to you, it may sound great to a turkey. My 6 year old makes the most aweful sounds with her box call but she calls in turkeys to our back deck all the time. Ohiobucks
Bump, just keeping us near the top. Bought some shells yesterday for my son and I. Youth season here in Ohio is April 19 and 20, with regular season starting April 21. Jake and I will be out there for youth season, hoping for a chance at bird like last years for him.
