well, I am done with day 2 of my season and I have been hearing alot of gobbling in the morning. I have seen 4 hens and 1 running tom as I was leaving down the road. Any ideas would be appreciated. I am new to turkey hunting and I just want to make sure I am not doing something wrong :(

Not doing anything wrong if you called one in earlier for your buddy, just need to find the right bird in the right mood and the right time. Keep at it.

I called it in, but it wasnt much of a challenge and it happened quick. The bird you saw in the picture gobbled once. I finally got a bird to respond to me really well for the first time on saturday. Him and I went at it for a good 25 minutes and he got hung up. I think he might of found the hen I saw an hour before. He was going crazy!!! I just hope tomorrow morning they are as active as Saturday. going to try and get a little closer to where he was. I can move up the field about 100 yards closer to the timber where he came from.

congrats on the bird, sorry about your luck John. Timbering runined my deer season a couple years ago. Thing is it should get real thick in there in the next couple years and deer should use it. I know it really improved the area I hunt.

It happens! LOL! I hope so! I just hope they fix the roads! :(
