RangerClay
Well after 478 miles I am home, unpacked, showered up and ready to post some pics. Wow, what a weekend would be an understatement. We all had a super time. We left Muffs house about 5:30 am and jumped on the ferry for the mainland. It was snowing and the winds were howling at about 30-40mph. Muff and I were beginning to wonder what we got ourselves into. After the ferry ride we stopped at Tim Hortons for some of their world famous coffee. We got to meet this kid I named Sparky because I felt he was running on just one cylinder. Sparky made us an "amusing" breakfast and we were on our way for the lodge owned by Shaun300's family. It was a long ride through some VERY wild country but we got there and loaded up the wagon. With visions of big fish dancing in our head we were ready to go. We drove out onto the ice with Joe's 4-wheeler and Shauns new 4-wheeler to our home away from home for the next 7 hours. The scenery here is simply awesome. While Shaun and I punched holes into 30+ inches of ice. Joe went and cleaned out the holes. I made for the guys a north country cooler. We were now ready to try to catch some fish. Our mighty fishing guide Shaun had us all set to put a judo chop into some big fish. A few moments after this pic the sun disappeared, the winds picked up and the wind chill temperature dropped and made things very cold. It wasn't long before we had a flag. And another, and another, and another, and another, and another. Yellow perch were tripping our tip-ups. It got a little annoying so we moved this tip-up. Shortly thereafter...FLAG!!!!! Mighty Joe Muff sprung into action and put the smackdown on this pike. Joe and Shaun with his 4 pound northern pike. Our mighty fishing guide Shaun had earned his pay. After that fish, things reeeally slowed down. We had a couple flags but this was going to be our only pike for this trip. Things got even colder so we moved into the shanty to relax and warm up. Click on this link: http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j312/Rangerclay/?action=view¤t=MVI_1240.flv With the sun starting to set we decided to call it a day. And what an awesome sunset it was. We went back to our motel got cleaned up and went back to the lodge for some dinner. And let me tell you something mister! Shauns mother cooked us a lasagna dinner that was fit for a king. I want to take this moment to publicly thank the Baileys for their wonderful hospitality. They are without a doubt some of the finest people you will EVER meet. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for us. At about 8:30 we went back to the motel. Our mighty fishing guide worked sooooo hard that he could not stand the exhaustion. On the way home we went by Craigs place. :D That's about it in a nut shell folks. We didn't catch much fish but with friends like these two, it didn't matter. You guys are the best!
