Moosie:

This thread has a "Five Star" rating. I'm impressed, you've come a long way son. smile.gif

docdog:

Have lots of family near your neck of the woods. Just north of Sallisaw to be exact. Lots of deer in that part of the country and on their farms. They literally walk about 100 yards from their house to their stand. Hard to imagine for westerner like me. Happy Holidays and save some chili, I'll be there in the spring. smile.gif

[ QUOTE ]

Since then I've authored a few posts, posted some photos for folks, and been labeled that "MonsterMuley" crowd.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only reason you fell into that crowd is because you came here (like the rest from MM) all at the or about the same time.

[ QUOTE ]

Now you want to lock all threads that have any of us in it? Wow, talk about censorship! That's not moderating, that's filling a personal vendetta.

[/ QUOTE ]

As you can see...nothing got locked or deleted. I was making a reference to the fact that there is alot of other threads in the forums. I was just curious if this one and all the others that "didn't" deal with "deer hunting" (since that is the room we are in) got deleted...how many folks from MM would contribute to our forums or just simply leave. Believe me...I will not delete or lock anything with out a vote from my fellow mods. (unless rules are broken.) I just wanted to start fresh. Rest assured...I don't have any personal vendetta with the MM folks. I got too many other things to worry about than moderating this site.

[ QUOTE ]

I'm glad our forefathers and brothers in Iraq are fighting for just the opposite, freedom.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless you personally have a brother in Iraq ( like I do) please don't preach to me about freedom!

I'm truely amazed by the amount of knowledge you all have...you've never heard of Realtree.com. You surely heard of Realtree camo? Never thought they'd have a web-site like the rest of the world.

I guess my biggest prob. with this entire mess, is that you folks believe that hunting out west is harder than the east...or the north, or south. First off...if you live in a place...you hunt the way your taught (that simple). Just because one person may hunt 6 million feet above sea level...doesn't make them more of a man than a guy that hunts on flat farm land.

I've been out west, north, and south...every where is different. None, any harder than the next...or any easier than the next. My father used to guide for elk in Ennis MT....we don't use mules and horses here to get into the woods (different ways of doing things). Bottom line...it doesn't matter if your hunting in Maine, South Carolina, PA, Colorado, Sask. Can...etc...you could get lost. If you are lost, does it really matter if your 15 miles or 50 miles from camp or roads? You need to know basic survial skills to be in the woods.

BTW...I'm only 30 years old Moosie...it scares the crap outta me that you think I'm "older". grin.gif

[ QUOTE ]

Along with Hunting, Sometimes I like to have fun, to me it's more important then getting something. Sometimes I push over trees holding a Gun.

I have since learned from reading something on the NET this makes me a bad guy.

I will stop doing this.

[/ QUOTE ]

As a mod. that video would have been the only thing I would have deleted off this site. Everyone raises their children differently...and everyone has different ways of having fun...but running and pointing a gun at someone else is not my idea of fun. Guns are to be respected...whether you know its loaded or unloaded. I would not want a child learning to hunt to see that video. I understand it was all in good fun...but accidents do happen. That video wouldn't have been funny if your gun was loaded (which I don't know if it was or not) would have went off hitting your cameraman or worst killing him. Sorry, just don't find the humor in unsafe practices. smirk.gif

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Snapper:

Where do I start. I'll address a few points, as it's obvious you have not read ALL my posts and may be somewhat confused. I'll set the record straight for you.

1st: Does it really matter when some of us logged on and joined your site. Judge individuals NOT groups. I actually like the layout and have learned a few things.

2nd: I'm glad you didn't lock/delete all those threads. Thank you. However, I only commented on what YOU stated YOU wanted to do.

3rd: I'm a little older than the rest that have shown up here and nearly 10 years to you and will talk freedom ANYTIME I want. You may have a brother there now, but I lost mine in Viet Nam so get off your sympathy high horse and listen up. The reference was made because everyone needs to understand that although we may not all agree we are all the same. THAT'S what this country is all about. Expressing opinions, learning from each other, and learning to agree to disagree.

4th: Never, I repeat never, have I posted anything that says our hunting is harder than yours. I simply came here to explain OSOK's personality and was fired upon immediately. Many have responded well, but I detected a negative tone about you from the start. For that, I'm truly sorry, as it takes away from the site. However, I guess your handle is very fitting.

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Snapper, would it not be reasonable to assume that a lot of members join when they are told about it by friends? Word of mouth is without a doubt the best advertising. If a number of folks joined from another website then so be it but its rediculous to stereotype all of MM members as "poachers", "road hunters", or otherwise. For example(hypothetical), if I think that you are a moron would it be correct to assume that all Realtree members are morons? I dont think so. I try to judge people on an individual basis, I think that its the right thing to do.

You claim that you have nothing against MM or its members.

" I just wanted to start fresh. Rest assured...I don't have any personal vendetta with the MM folks.

Yet you still make references to the MM crowd as a whole, not as individuals. WHY?

"I'm truely amazed by the amount of knowledge you all have...you've never heard of Realtree.com. You surely heard of Realtree camo? Never thought they'd have a web-site like the rest of the world."

And yet again stereotyping MM users.

"I guess my biggest prob. with this entire mess, is that you folks believe that hunting out west is harder than the east..."

I have read that this is a family oriented website and I think thats great but I have yet to see it. I saw where one Realtree member called MM members the "Saddam Hussein" of the hunting world! I think thats disgusting! The majority of the negativity has come from the Realtree members and of the Realtree members the moderators have been the worst. Talk about a great "welcoming committee".

As for this website, I have to say that I have not been real impressed.

-Disclaimer- The previous sentence was my opinion and my opinion only and my thoughts and opinions are not necessarily the same as MonsterMuleys or its users.

I dont know if I will post here but I will give it a chance and come here and check it out from time to time and not make my assumptions on the website as a whole based on the negativity of a few. I personally enjoy hunting whitetails and consider it a challenge. I enjoy hunting mule deer more but not because I think they are any more challenging but I just like glassing the mountains and plains as well as tracking in the deserts on Sonora. I guess its the type of hunting I enjoy more rather than the type of deer I am hunting.

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

This really is a classic! Buckee, jimT and snapper have all gone out of their way to SLAM certain members and have no response once they are called on it. I would love an explanation and an apology to the people they were refering to.

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Come on guys ..lighten up on snapper.

You all know why you all decided to come over here. It was because one of your members at MM got da boot, and got you all stirred up because you were all bored.

I read all the posts over there and it was obvious that some of you guys, not all, were going to come over here to "enlighten us"and stir the ol' pot a bit ..LOL

We were just reacting to the onslaught of all the guys signing in from MonsterMulies, and yes, we were expecting, (I know I was) a terrorist attack ...LOL grin.gif .. well, you know what I mean. wink.gif

We were expecting the worst.

Most of you have been great and it's nice to see your pics and hear some stories.

So sit back, relax, take your shoes off and try ours on for a minute or two. Maybe you'll see this whole thing in a different light.

Try to have a little understanding from our viewpoint.

If you want to blame someone for some of the treatment you've recieved so far ...go blame OSOK. He's the pot stirrer

By the way...welcome to realtree

Now I'm going to sit down and enjoy my Christmas eve dinner grin.gif...

Merry Christmas guys.

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Reminds me alot of a street brawl I was in around 15 years ago in my college days.........I've since mellowed quite a bit and have come to terms with my past...........anyways, everyone went toe-to-toe for a good spell, some of us thought we "done good", but nobody really ended up winners out of the mess....just sore, LOL......................but once the smoke cleared, it found some shaking hands and chuggin cold ones in the aftermath.........................I'm guessing we're seeing the same thing happen here..........................I thinks it's time to shake hands and break out the frosties......... wink.gif

Nobody intends to label you all As the MM clan, but isn't it what you live for ?? Why get so defensive about it......I'd think you all would be honored, after all isn't it what you came here to enlighten us about ?? Monster Muley and big country hunting ?? I've actually hop on the MM site several times a year to gawk at the boney hardware displayed in the photo gallery.......always amazes me ??!! Might have to register one of these days........ shocked.gif

And take this for what it's worth..........Buckee and Snap are two of the utmost respected and upstanding individuals.....always willing to lend a hand or the shirt off their back.........JimT is also passionate about his style of hunting..........................................I guess we all have alot more in common than this whole mini-feud has protrayed...........we love hunting and will defend it at all costs.................................pour me a 'nuther wink.gif

I think we just need to start over--stop the name calling and just get along----It's Christmas--we may be from different parts of the country--but most of us are from 2 of the greatest countries--USA and Canada-----Let's just forget what was said---and keep those great pics of those big mulies coming!

Merry Christmas to all and God Bless!

Moosie.......great pics once again...........as far as the MIA posts, I have no answer for you........as far as I know, I'm the only Mod for this room that has been in lately......and I surely have not axed them.

Have you been using the "Preview Post" feature ?? I had the same kinda trouble of loosing posts, because I did not "continue" through the entire procedure..............if this is your case, just go to "My Home" at the top of the page and eliminate that feature from your personal set-up......see if that helps..........other than that, I'm clueless blush.gif

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Man, some of you guys just dont get it do you? I guess I am old fashioned and pretty set in my ways, not to mention opinionated but when someone disrespects a fellow outdoorsman I cant just sweep it under the rug and forget about it. You can keep bringing up OSOK but its not about him or what he said, he was gone after three posts without the opportunity to let you guys get to know him. You guys mentioned that Snapper, Jimt and Buckee among others are "well respected". Being old fashioned I feel that respect is earned and not given. Not knowing them and looking at the things said I dont have an ounce of respect for the things that they have said and the actions they have taken. Until it is earned I will consider them the type of people I would not want to share a campfire with. I would not even offer someone like that a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. I do remember the days of having a good old friendly fight when you end up laughing and joking but thats completely different, its a lot easier to shrug it off when your face to face and there has got to be some give with both parties involved. There are guys here that are supposedly well respected that refuse to budge. Back in the day I would not shrug it off and have a beer with that type of person but rather continue to beat him like a rented mule. I will not stereotype the regulars here because it is obvious that there are some great guys here that are extremely passionate about what and how they hunt. Thats how it should be, who cares whats tougher to hunt and who cares about who the best is? I have been fortunate to watch some huge mule deer hit the ground but that does not make me a great hunter rather a hunter that hunts great areas. My success is a product of the country hunted and not my "prowess" as a hunter. I would hope that some of you guys realize that this is true in most cases. You guys talk about "mega" egos on the MM site but if you were to go over there and do some searches you will find folks not unlike yourselves, we are passionate about what we do and how we do it we can just take a joke a little better than you guys over here.

I hope that the well respected members prove me wrong but first impressions are everything. That being said I have a ton of respect for someone that stands up and admits when he is wrong. I will step down off of my soap box now and will indeed stick around to see if these guys are man enough to do the right thing or if they still try to justify the completely ignorant statements made.

Have a great Christmas,

Drummond

Points well made and well taken. As in all relationships, though, it takes two(sometimes more, LOL)....and I think everyone is coming to grips with this, Osok should reflect on that a little as well as the rest of us.....

........Merry x-mas to you too DTH..........oh yea, and welcome to the forums........ wink.gif

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Hey guys,

First off let me welcome all the new guys here. Merry Christmas as well. I really do hope you all can set these smart mouthed posts, and badgering aside. I am one of the Youth Mods here, and if you won't respect any of our other mods, I ask that you respect the kids on here. I myself am a youth, and I hate seeing arguements and harsh words on this site. Now as for my fellow mods, some of them may have jumped the gun...............but we all make a mistake. As you can see, most of them are now trying to welcome you guys into this wonderful famiily website. At least you can do the same, and maybe calm down, and not be so "tacky" in your posts. I mean, if you wanna gloat on how you have been warned, edited, or whatever, then I can only give you the advise as to either A. Do what the Mods tell you, and post according to forum rules, without being smart mouths, or B. Find another board. I in no way intend to be a jerk, or anything at all. I just ask all of you ADULTS, on both sides, to sit back and realize you are acting like kids, and need to stop. Plus remeber litttle eyes read these posts as well. Thanks guys!

Re: MOOSIE\'s IN DA HOUSE :)

Not to wade in too deep on this...

The Realtree.com forums are NOT a public soapbox. They ARE a PRIVATELY run bulletin board HOSTED by Realtree.

The so-called 'Freedoms of Speech' that people hide behind so they can express their vulgarity, lewdness, and disrespectful tendencies, are not tolerated. They don't have to be tolerated...THIS IS A PRIVATE BULLETIN BOARD.

To put it in terms that all can understand, this is like Realtree's 'home'. When you enter its doors, you will respect the Owner...you will respect his children...you will respect his guests...you will respect his property.

If you cannot respect the rules of the house...you can expect to be booted.

[ QUOTE ]

You guys mentioned that Snapper, Jimt and Buckee among others are "well respected".

[/ QUOTE ]That they are !! Don't forget it !!

By the way...Welcome to the Forums!
