toddyboman
Do you think you can plant to many food plots??? Debating on if we should plant more food plots....Currently we plant about 4 acres....4 1 acre plots.
bowhtr1
That depends on how much land you have and if you have enough cover available for the deer. I cant see how you can have too many but then again it can break the bank. I would suggest to plant as much as you can afford. The expence part hit me so I planted several in Durana clover that will grow summer and fall and is suppose to last for 5 plus years. All I have to do with these plots is cut and maybe put some fertilizer down from time to time. I will try different stuff in the rest of them. Hard work will be rewarded. I agree I've also heard that you are suppose to plant a certain percentage of your land in food plots. I think it was somthing like 10 percent or something like that. wtnhunt
Dont know Todd. Guess there is a possibility that you can have too much available food, but also think it better to have too much rather than not enough.

I can't immagine there is too much to eat once winter comes around.
Sam16
I dont think you can have too much persay... but your hunting success might go down since the deer will have more options and be more spread out. Your sightings may decrease. that being said, it would probably benefit your herd's health.

Would be great for your deer, but your hunting will probably see a decrease in number of sightings
dogdoc
i'd think that if you increase the food that you would be increasing the carrying capacity of the land--thus increasing the number of deer on your property--as long as you also have enough cover and water to hold the deer. wildthing
I have a couple acres planted myself...looking to plant a few more. I have a sweet spot picked out...just need to get a bobcat out to clear some of the scrub trees away.
