dartonman
I had two polite but of course shady individuals pull up in the driveway, selling wholesale steaks from a company not far from me, and I have had neigbors buy from them, and all have like the products, so I let him talk the talk, and try and sell me a case of this, ie chicken, ribeyes, etc..etc.., and I kept talking about hunting, how tired he looked, along with how late it was getting.....and told them finally, I wasn't really feeling like spending my money today......so, after I got them a couple soda's, and we were chatting....he says.."you can have whatever you want, for 20.00 a box....and he shoves the chicken breasts, and burger boxes toward the edge of the truck.....so, I grabbed two boxes of filet mignons (bacon wrapped 5 oz's) (8) per box.....and paid him....he laughed, and said, "yep, a deal is a deal".....and smiled and shook hands, and left....pulled back in, gave me his cell, and told me the days they were around my area....I wished him well...and walked in the house with my frozen steaks....I hope I got a deal...40 bucks for (16) bacon wrapped filet mignons....al

I think your math is a little off, 16 @ 5 oz each comes up to 5 lbs or $8/lb. Still not bad as long as they are good.

Michihunter
I just hope these weren't guys stealing from their employer. Wouldn't matter how good a deal I got, they'd still taste like crap to me.
Tominator
Sometimes you can catch filets on sale for around $14 to $15 a lb, so $8 is a pretty good deal. Hope they're fresh.
