Guest TylerMatheny
What is ya'lls turkey gun? Mine is a Remington 870 Express magnum. It is customized to where the barrel is hollowed out to 10g diameter yet it still shoots 12 gauge shells so it shoots a diff. pattern and I like it. It won't throw a slug worth a hoot but I got another 870 for that. I also had trigger system re-done to where it has a harder pull on it and some other odds and ends done to it. It was all done professionally by Keith Anderson out of Batesville AR who went out of business about a year ago. It's a real shame, he was amazing at shotguns. terry264
Hi Tyler, sounds like a nice 870, but you've been pretty lucky so far. If you really like that "overbored" 870, please do not shoot slugs thru it cause it can ruin it. There is a warning that comes with all the "overbored" shotguns I have seen to never shoot slugs thru them. Guess the slug can get turned or blown sideways as it goes down the barrel and can ruin the barrel. Just so you will know and not ruin it,,,,Terry. Guest TylerMatheny
Yea I know, I got another 870 for shooting slugs. I rather like my single shot 20gauge though for slug hunting for some reason.

TexasDeerHunter
Used to shoot a Rem 870 in 12ga, but I hunt exclusively with a Beretta Silver Pigeon in 28ga now. Alot of folks laugh, but I am just as deadly if not more so with that little 28 than I was with a 12. I can do well on everything from dove and quail to ducks and turkey. Since I have narrowed down to hunting with only one shotgun I have become a better shot and think my kill to shot ration has gotten alot better. doubleA
For the past 5-6 years I have been using a Benelli Nova/Leupold as my dedicated turkey gun. My wife uses a Win 1300 with Tru Glo open sights and a Cabelas red dot. Our spring season starts tomorrow so maybe one of these might go BOOM.
