I was in Jordan Montana, I didn't know anything happened until I talked to my brother back here in Pa. We then turned on the radio in the car and tried to follow up on what was going on.

Sad day, I know the whole way back from montana, every van that passed us was headed to NY with supplies. Every road sign said pray for the people in NY and God Bless America.

I was on a job site working on a property survey. We had the truck windows down and were listening to "Bob & Tom" when it all went down. The entire show was about the incident. We were useless after that and couldn't even work. When we got back to the office, the boss went out and bought a TV so we could watch all the coverage. I can't even explain the rollercoaster of emotions going on in me:mad::(.

Great post to talk about during this election year. We can't forget and need to remind all the "do gooders" that America is about standing up for what you believe in and drawing that line in the sand. God Bless This Great Nation.

I worked at a car dealership at the time. I was on the phone with our manager who was off that day. He called to tell us that a plane just flew into the tower...as we were talking he was watching television he said "oh my god another one just flew into it" he hung up the phone without another word.

We went out and bought a television so we could see the news. The phone didn't ring for almost a week at the dealership... people were just too stunned. It was an awful day that I will never forget.

I was driving to work and heard it on the radio. I heard the first report about the first plane hitting the tower in NY and thought it was a small plane (1-2 people). I remember thinking... boy that's too bad. Later in my office I heard about the whole story and was devistated. I remember wanting to check on my kids and make sure they were safe.

I just gotten to work and sat my purse down when the phone rang. It was my mother.

The conversation went like this:

Mom: "Andrea, I was watching the news and a plane hit the World Trade Tower"

Me: "What???? What kind of plane?"

Mom: "No one knows for sure"

Me: " Wow, he was really off course."

Mom: " Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!!!!!"

Me: "WHAT???????"

Mom: "Another one just hit the other tower!!! A big passenger plane!!!!!!" ( She is yelling)

Me: "That wasn't an accident Mom, that was on purpose."

No one says anything for a moment.

Mom: " I can't believe this. I just cannot believe this"

We conversed for a few moments then I hung up and called my husband to tell him what was going on. As soon as the 3rd plane hit the Pentagon I left and took the kids out of school. It was clear we were under attack. I don't think the television was turned off for 2 or 3 days afterwards. Getting teary eyed writing this.....

......I had stayed up all night the night before, getting things packed for one of those whirlwind "town trips" for supplies. The boys were little...each had dental appts. starting at 8:30 am-I was afraid of not waking up in time-so I knit socks through the night...at 5:00am,I remember having this overwhelming feeling...walked out on the cabin porch...the northern lights were out.

:I remember savoring the peace and quiet, thinking"We are so blessed to live out here....and have places in our country like this"......

Got my family ready to go....At 5:30 am,frigid 4-wheeler ride to the road(1st frost)

...We drove into Fairbanks ,on to North Pole to the dental office....it looked wierd;only one gal there...the rest of the dental office lived on Eileson AFB...it had been locked down....

My first time actually being ON TIME for an appointment...and it didn't happen,of course.

....As the details and reality of the tragedy unfolded throughout the day,it was hard to comprehend...and with the family watching the footage at the place of a friend in town....We found it desperately hard to answer the questions of our little ones, who had never even watched TV.

We just wanted to turn around, and go back out to our cabin.

-There was a dire situation, too, for the numerous hunters who were out waiting for pick-ups ,for days, with no way of knowing what was going on.

.....Alaskans had not felt this sense of isolation and vulnerability since the Cold War.

I am sure the post are gone now, but myself and a couple of others were right here in the forums making post about it.(technically I was at work) I was switching from watching it on tv, online, and posting about it. We had a meeting that morning with some guys who had flown into Houston and rented a car to drive out to our office, they were lucky they had the car to drive back home with.

I can remember as if it just happened yesterday...

It is something I will never forget...

I was out on a tractor in a field sparying weeds that day when I heard it on the radio...

My heart just fell to my knees and I couldn't believe what I was listing to...

Was at college at my dorm. Turned it on tv just in time to watch the South Tower collapse. I bet the majority of the population of the United States doesn't remember where they were. Our sense of Patriotism has surley dimished over the six and a half years since it occured. Just look at the two democratic idiots fighting and pointing fingers at each other.

LEST WE FORGET 9-11-01! :(

Same thing with the Alfred P. Murrah building in OKC. We had just left the convention center the day before on a FFA trip. We were all at school in class the next day when it came on the TV and those of us that went on that FFA trip were thankful that we were back because we we parked nearly in front of the building and stuff. I just dont understand how people can do such horrific things to each other. Just makes me want to pray to God for forgiveness and blessing my family and make me understand what is wrong with some people today.

I remember walking to school that morning at approximately 7:30 ct, thinking how beautiful of a day it was. I still have the picture of the sky that day in my head. I remember that i could feel a light hint of fall for the first time of the year. My thoughts swung to hunting.

When it happened, was in my first period class. We did nothing but watch tv all day.

Played a football game that night away. Remember gas station after gas station with cars lined up on the way home.
