Guest TylerMatheny
This is the only place I found fitting to discuss trapping. Anyone in here trap? I caught a couple gray fox, coons, and a bobcat this year!
aksheephuntress
Hey.........That's neat!!!....Welcome to the forums.......Yes there are a lot of trappers, here. Hey..I noticed on your profile, you are into "aquariums"...?...an interest in marine research/biology/rescue??. :Look-don't read any more into this(I'm probably old enough to be your mother......homeschooling 5 of my own,currently)- ...Seriously consider coming to Seward,Alaska after you graduate.......this might just be your niche....We have a world -class marine Sea Life Center here,in addition to awesome trapping, hunting, and fishing. ...Just "food for thought".- Dreams are what people make of them. DO IT Now(whatever it is,for you)...before you get locked in with life. Seward.com-something like that-

Hardwood_HD
welcome to the forums.. i like to trap but its hard for me to get away from hunting, afraid of scaring the deer going in everyday to check my traps

sureshot
congrats soem pictures you will never forget! I used to do a ton of trapping as a kid, I libved right on the edge of town so I would set a line of 5-6 sets up startign abotu a mile out of town to 2-3 miles, every night after school I wa sout checking the sets, best young memories I have , I would get a couple skunks and 5-10 fox a year, great for a 12 year old kid, I did a bit more as I got older but once the new trapping regulations came in for coyote I stopped,we need offset or padded traps, ect, just to much hastle,I jsut set out a few badger sets on friday, the badger prices are high and there are gettign to be a bunch close to town, next year I am settign a line of fox sets up in early nov, there is jet black fox I really want bad! good luck! Adjam5
Welcome to the board Tyler! Thats a nice Bobcat there. I trap also. My trapping was born out of having my trash cans knocked over every night by coons and possums. I took my trapping course( which you have to do in NYS:rolleyes:) and I no longer have trash can problems:D I did trap a nice 60 something pound beaver this December. I am waiting for it to come back from the tannery. Have fun...Looking forward to other posts of yours!
