bluelund79
Statement first...I appreciate the wealth of information that I have found on this site....Thank You Now the question...I have an older fixed full choke barrel for my 870. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can send it to have it cut down from 28 inches down to 24 and have it threaded for chokes? I have not had a great amount of luck around me and am wanting to see if maybe you guys know of any places. Thanks in advance, Eric
Strut10
I've got 2 barrels at Wright's Gunsmithing in Illinois as we speak. Had them do another a few years back. I am pleased thus far. Call them and tell them what you have in mind. They will tell you if it's feasible or not. There are certain measurements the barrel must meet in order to be threaded...especially for a thick-walled tube such as RemChoke. If RemChoke won't work, a thin-walled Tru-Choke thread will usually work. http://www.wrightsgunsmiths.com/

johnf
Have you checked for a 24" barrel at Wal-Mart. Ours here carries them relatively cheap.
bluelund79
I actually have checked our local WalMarts, however, most of them are not real good in the sporting goods dept. I will be checking them out when I go to South Carolina tomarrow for the next month. I was just hoping to use the barrel I already have, and kind of do some of my own custom stuff I guess. That ATI stock I have on it is noce, but you really have to bear down real tight on the stock when shooting turkey loads....learned that one the hard way!!!!
