Anyone ever shot one of these before?

Recommended Posts

.....Haven't gotten any responses yet from the muzzleloader room-thought I would try here.

......Anyone ever shot a blackpowder 12 ga shotgun?...We picked one up at the gun show, the other day.My guy has been around a lot of firearms through the years, but has never shot one(and, either have I).

......Thought I would ask...

i have some guys use them on upland hunts just to put a little more class but i think they are kindof un practicle for hunting because they take to long to load when you are in fast shooting action.

The kill range on them is somewhat shorter as well.

I did take a guy turkey hunting last year and he used a knight inline ML and he shot a turkey at 40 yd and you would of thaught he shot him with a 12 gauge 3.5 in.

...Hey , thanks,guys!-and yeah,I forgot about the "search"option.

...I forgot to mention....we just want to go shoot this on the range, for fun.It was kind of a collector purchase, thought it would be neat to hang it up with our other muzzleloaders...and it was only $125....just wasn't sure how to load it, any other details anyone could add, etc.

AK---I had a T/C New Englander shotgun a few years ago. If memory serves me correct---I think the load was 70 grains of FF, then a felt wad, 1 1/8 oz of #6 shot, then a paper wad to cover & hold the shot. Fun to shoot---I never hunted anything with it. It had a IC choke. Traded it off a few years ago.

If it were me I'd have it checked by a gunsmith before I even tried to shoot it. You never know about an old firearm. CB
