Guest Andrea
Heard this one?? I did this morning. This soldier is stationed in Honolulu. They videotaped him picking up the stray puppy by the scruff of his neck and saying how cute he was then he chunks him off a cliff. I won't post a link to the video. It's deplorable. Why would anyone do that? Why would a soldier do that? And tape himself? The Marines are investigating. Not sure what kind of punishment, if any, he would get. Just disgusted me.:mad:
aksheephuntress
..Yes, that is sick!....I hate it when people abuse animals...it makes you wonder just how they treat their wives....or kids! ....have always wondered what's going on-or, not going on-with them "upstairs". cinch314
Sick Sick Sick. Should throw him off the cliff. <<<
IowaDeerHunter
What a pos. Why would somebody ever do that. At least pick it up and bring it somewhere or if you don't want anything to do with it let it go and maybe somebody better will find it. oo_buck
Maybe he's trying to get court martialed...... These subjects always seem to get a reply something to the effect of doing the same thing to the guy who did "whatever" to a dog. That's where I usually lose interest. I am not saying that it was the right thing to do, BUT I know that throwing the man off of a cliff to pay him back for it is wrong. I am sure I am not get win anyone's heart with what I'm about to say. It was a DOG. Not a person. I don't understand how someone can equate the life of an animal with that of a human. I like dog's, but I'm not gonna hang someone, or sentance them to prison for killing one. Now excuse me while I go find my flame retardent clothing. cinch314
I was joking about throwing him off the cliff. Sorry for my sense of humor. Does it look any better now>?
oo_buck
I was joking about throwing him off the cliff. Sorry for my sense of humor. Does it look any better now>? Hey, don't worry about what I think. I didn't figure you meant it. The point I was trying to make is that for some reason a lot of people seem to hold the lives of dogs on a higher level than lots of other animals. Sorry if you thought I was trying to single you out.
Dubie
That is odd. Maybe the marine in experiencing PTSD, or something similar. I've seen soldiers with PTSD do some very bizzar things...Or there's always the possibility that he wants to be charged and given the boot. Sorry if you thought I was trying to single you out. It is a bit of a stretch to equate a dog life to a human life, I agree 100%. Then again, if I watched someone throw my dog over a cliff there's a good chance he would follow shortly after...
fly
I believe all life is to be respected. Killing or harming animals just for a laugh or to impress friends is wrong. As far as the punishment goes, well look at the repurcussions poachers face. I think it should be comparable. If he was suffering from a disorder then that should be taken into account. wtnhunt
Had not heard about this yet Andrea. That is odd. Maybe the marine in experiencing PTSD, or something similar. I've seen soldiers with PTSD do some very bizzar things... That would be a possibility that might explain his action. For whatever reason he did it, it is a shame. Swamphunter
He is a scumbag... hopefully that is the end of their careers in the military and they end up locked up. The Marine holding the camera and waiting for him to do it is just as guilty.
buckee
I just watched the video. That guy, and the girl with him who did the taping, are two, very disturbed people. Pretty hard to believe someone could be so heartlessly cruel. I wouldn't want them defending my country either.

stevebeilgard
he'll get punished, for sure. the marines don't like this kind of stuff. god put all animals on this earth, and the bible tells us that they are here for our use, and we are their caretakers. this kid will have some answering to do. TreeStandBowHunter
Hhmmmm interesting. Were any of you there? Do you know why he did it? Do you know what was going through his brain at the time? Do you know what his state of mind was at the time he did it? End is career??? Scumbag? POS? The same scumbag and POS that probably did three tours in Iraq that many have? These replies are some funny crap, that what this is. Let's just shoot the guy while we are at it. Forget that he may be in need of professional help and this is a sign (Obviously a unique sick sign, but nonetheless). Forget all that let's just end his career and be done with it. Typical responses! You know what, yeah, he was a bad boy. We set high standards and he obviously failed in that part. He threw a dog off the cliff. If he IN FACT did it, then yes, he needs punished but I don't agree in ending his career. Who knows, maybe he started thinking back to a buddy that he seen get blown up and decided to have a little fun with a dog. None of you know, that's the funny part. But yet many of you curse the guy. It's a dog, not a human. Nobody in here knows the full story of this. This incident will be investigated as with all of them. Also just for everyone elses general knowledge, it's either he was a Soldier or a Marine. There is a difference. I seen in some of the first few posts the subject was called a "Soldier" and a Marine". Marines are not called Soldiers just like Soldiers are not called Marines. Soldiers are in the Army not the Marines. Don't worry Mods, this is the last post you will see me make in this thread. I promise:mad:
