NYBowhunter71
What exercises have you found that helps you get into shape for bowhunting?
Guest ohbowhntr
Stay In Shape.... I'll tell you quite honestly, I do NOTHING to "Get in shape" for bowhunting, unless you are talking about a hunt out west in the altitude, then I do a bunch of CARDIO work, and even then, you can never REALLY prepare yourself for the toll the altitude will take on your body. HUNTINGMAN
Just shoot my bow often to keep my back and shoulder muscles loose and in good strength.

Tominator
I invite Ohiobucks over for cookouts. We eat ribs, burgers, dogs, sweet corn, drink a few drinks, etc. Honestly, bowhunting is my exercise for that time of year.
Guest ckcranch
I sit in my recliner and watch Realtree Outdoors!
Bowtech_archer07
No special exercise other than my regular weight-lifting regimen. I keep shooting my bow whenever I get the chance and go to 3d shoots at my archery shop. Other than that... Watch hunting videos and anticipate opening day!!! fly
I play basketball once a week at my church. I'm planning an archery bear hunt in Idaho this spring and plan to do some additional jogging and elliptical training. Primarily cardiopulmonary workouts. I guess shooting is also a form of exercise, but I don't generally think of it that way.

kingfisherfd2
I like using the cable machines at my gym. I will adjust them to multiple levels. I will do pulls with it that are similar to pulling my bow back, then I will hold it for 5 seconds "pinched back" so it is lock in like you would your bow string into you anchor points. Then I do a very slow return. I also like doing the lawn mower pulls where you reach down and pick up a weight from the floor and in a fluid motion pull it off the floor and lift it up your body, you can do this just to your shoulder height, or you can continue and rotate the weight at your shoulder height and continue to extend your arm to full height above your head. Both of these exercise use the same muscle groups that you shoot with. I prefer to shoot all year long, but I find that about a month before season starts, I start adding these exercises to my routine.
wildthing
I have been in athletics most of my life so I work out with weights and cardio on a fairly regular basis. I shoot my bow as often as I can. I take walks to scout for sign on a routine basis.
