whitetailtrax
We've got a young 5x5 whitetail that spends 75% of his time in a field behind our house. We've been watching him all winter and nicknamed him "sleepy" because he likes to stretch his neck out when laying down and puts his chin right on the ground and sleeps. Anyway, he shed his left antler last Friday night and here we are a week later and as of this morning he was still packing the right side!! Helps explain why some matches are so hard to find! I have permission to look for sheds out there, so will wait for him to shed the right side and the other small buck with him to shed before going out there. It's 70 acres of tall CRP, so chances are slim of finding anything, but my boys and I will give it a try.
toddyboman
Sure hope you find his shed.....It would be a neat set to have since you have watched him all winter.
Tominator
LOL--that's funny in a way. Hope you find them. Had a deer fall asleep in front of me once. He did the same thing with his chin.
Zambo
Great story. It will make the set memorable for you. You will have to post them when you get both sides. And yes it explains why sets are so hard to find. Last year I picked up 29 sheds and only three pairs.
Guest dihardhunter
Best of luck finding those sheds. Sets are EXTREMELY hard to come by. Have well over 100 sheds and only 2 sets. I'm cursed as far as that goes I think.
