Leo Posted March 25, 2008 Report Share Posted March 25, 2008 You did real good! Calling is something that's most intimidating to new turkey hunters. You covered it well. I want to emphasize your point about not answering a roosted gobbler. If he answers you, fine, time to shut up. If you answer him, he'll expect you to come and follow. Newbies resist the temptation, I guarantee he is telling you right! What you practically never see in videos nowadays is how to scout for turkeys. There really isn't a product to sell with this knowledge so I guess that's why. But identifying key feeding areas, crossings and strut zones are especially crucial to scoring after the roost success.
