Nut
In light of a past thread allow me to relate a story. My 17 year old son Codie had a injury shortened wrestling season so he did not attain varsity letter status. However another wrestler had the same thing happen however this wrestler and other sources complained about it until the coach gave him a letter for the year. The coach called Codie into his office and told him about what had happened and snce Codie had the injury that he could have a varsity letter since the other guy received one. Codie told him that since he did not earn the letter that he did not want it given. It stunk being hurt but that is life. Yes Codie did want to earn the letter but not once had I ever heard him complain or even muse about what should have been. He is going to be fine. stevebeilgard
that's a character issue, nut. your son is heads above the others. basically, he wanted to earn his letter, and the others just wanted to wear a letter. good for codie. Hoosierbuck
It takes lots of guys a long time to learn that lesson, and some never do. You could go to a high fence operation and kill a 180" deer, but when it is on the wall next to your 135" you got with your bow the right way, you will always take more pride in the 135". That's my theory, anyway. Easy stuff comes cheap, hard stuff is better. You are very right to be proud of your son, he gets it! HB
