Insulin Pump

I dont think i have ever told anyone on here, but i am a diabetic. The last time i went to my endochronologist (sp?) She told me she wanted to get my blood sugars a little more level, and she thinks she can do it with the pump. Well my parents filled out the insurance papers for it and its only gonna cost my parents 50$ which is nothing compared to what the lil machine costs. So im half way threw writing down a month of blood sugars so they can figure out what drip level they will start me at. There also putting another type of machine, about the size of a quarter on me that will check my blood sugar ever 5 minutes and then the pump will adjust my insulin dose accordingly. So i will be going from 3-5 syringe shots a day to one shot every 3 days and 4 blood sugar tests a day to one just to make sure that the machine is accurate. Wish me luck...I wish it would get here as soon as possible!

....Oh,man.......Prayers for you,from our family.......!

:Thankyou for letting us know.

...I highly encourage you to look into a powerful natural supplement called:

GYMNEMNA SYLVESTRE

:......it absorbs up to 50 % of all sugar ingested, regulates your blood sugar, and can safely be taken in conjunction w/ your reg. medicine.

...The doctors up here are starting to recognise the benefits of this, for diabetics....and prescribing it .

it can be purchased over the counter at any Fred Meyer, or health food store.

Prayers are with you.....my wife is a trauma nurse, and feels the pump is a great thing for juvenile diabetes.....at this time in your life, natural supplements actually worsen the condition of juvenile diebetes....stick to your program with your specialist, and as long as you are not in contact sports, my wife says the insulin pump will really be a huge improvement.....our 13 year old niece is an insulin dependent diabetic, and she was diagnosed about a year ago......best wishes, and God Bless............(by no means are we knocking the herbal supplements, its great news for adult diabetics, however never recommended for juveniles, due to hormonal imbalances)...............al

I went in Thursday morning for another blood letting. My hemoglobin A1C has been running in the 6.8-6.9 range. Definately diabetic. However, it's remained consistent enough that insulin is not required at this time and we are trying to control it with diet and excercise. Hopefully this last test remains good.

Diabetes is not something to play around with. I have aquaintances that are missing body parts because they didn't take care of themselves. Fingers, toes, feet, and hands. They seem like something I need, so I try to keep mine under control and get it checked.

You sound like you have a handle on yours, and medicine these days is allowing us to lead normal and active lives despite our health issues.

Don't put anything white in your mouth and you'll be ahead of the game. That's a lesson for us all.

Wishing you nothing but the best with the pump!

I was diagnosed with diabetes last November and but I have type 2. I am currently taking 2 pills per day and really watching my diet and exercising 2 times a week!

So far, it is working great! This morning, my blood sugar was 98, so that was great!

As previously stated, no white bread, potatoes, rice, corn and those things with high starch!

Good luck!
