Tony
you might want to check into the Hoyt Reflex type of bows. the are priced a lot less than the Tec risers but come with the new cam and a half . also another good bow you might check into is Martin they put out several bows good starter bows in the 200 to 240 range . what ever you decide the bow must fit her draw length and draw weight . these to factors are the most critical for her to enjoy shooting. plus make sure the draw length and draw weight adjust to you then maybe you can use it for a back up bow . Ravin R10 man
Re: Descent bow for Wife Jmt; I think you should back the draw wieght back some, even 50# is alot for a gal to pull. Id start her at 40 and go from there. Hoyt has some pretty good bows that might fit her. Shop around, what she likes, and what fits her should be up to her. If my wife wanted to bow hunt, Id get her what ever she felt comfortable with.
Straight Shooter
Re: Descent bow for Wife First off, besides what Tony and Onieda has said. Has she shot a bow before. If not, before buying one. If one of your firends wives shoot, let her shoot one them and see if she is going to like it. This will give you an idea of what she can draw and what you should be looking for.
archerjg
Re: Descent bow for Wife All make good bows, but for the price range. Bear, Martin, Reflex, High Country Archery. They seem to be a little less for the bows and they are all good quality. Archerjg
dg
Re: Descent bow for Wife My oldest boy has a Browning Micro-Adrenaline that is adjustable from 22-27" and 35-50 pounds. It spits them out pretty good. Got it from e-bay for $150. It's lite too.

VtBowhunter
Re: Descent bow for Wife I would highly recommend the Champion Eclipse. It's a bow that Champion came out with specifically for women. I bought one for my wife and she loves it and she's gotten pretty good with it.
