Dubie
Well, I was at the range last night, drew back, and made it to about half draw. I guess my release wasn't klicked on all the way, because it suddenly prefired, nearly tossing my bow half way down range, lobbing my arrow WAY off target, and getting my arm so hard with the string I got a big swollen lump of blood the size of a golf ball sitting under my forarm skin... No more shooting until my arm can move without hurting, I suppose. And now I got to take my release apart and make sure it is all good to go, and it was negligence on my part (not ensuring it clipped in all the way) rather then mechanical failure... hutchies
At least you didn't hit yourself in the nose and bloody it.

8ptbuckpa
make sure someone checks over the bow just to play it safe, I know it wasn't dry-fired but may have affected something. hope it gets better soon Brad
wildthing
I've busted my lip open before doing that.
JimPic
That happened to a buddy of mine.He and I were shooting when I heard "twang",followed by an "ooof".I turned around and he's hunched over holding his nose.He said the release went off early.I told him that's impossible and that he must've hit the trigger, and to try it again. He nocks an arrow and starts to draw--"twang" then "ooof" again.I still can't believe he fell for that:D
HUNTINGMAN
I was shooting one of my old bows one day when my release broke at full draw,it left a welp from my elbow to my rist that was black and blue and about an inch in height. After not shooting for about two weeks I picked it up and tried again, this time the cable snapped and ran right down the bruise that was allready there,I allmost cried and then got rid of that bow. Tominator
I did that once. Launched an arrow that I still haven't found. Socked myself in the nose pretty good too.

sskybnd
dont you just hate when that happens, i dont know what hurts worse, hitting your self in the mouth or the nose, or the welp you but on your arm, ive done it three times in a row, before i went to the truck and got my other release. its even worse for your ego when you shooting with friends,

Guest dihardhunter
I've never personally done that, but have watched in amazement as a chicken egg forms under someone else's forearm skin in just a minute or two. It can be downright freaky scary at first. Glad you're alright.
Dubie
Well, the bow seems to be fine. The release seems to be fine. I think it was a freak accident where I didn't ensure it was fully clipped on before drawing. If it happens again, the release is taking a swim in the river though.
